Ugh. So ugly.
Well, the arms and legs are, at least, but I really like the light and sturdy chest pieces - especially the "new" ones from the institute with the intact finish.
You obviously haven't seen the power of a full set of sentinel or lucky gear. Sentinel gives you 95% damage REDUCTION (you only take 5% of ALL INCOMING DAMAGE), and lucky allowed me (a 2 luck character) to get a crit in 3 shots with Righteous authority. It can be pretty insane once you build up sets for all situations and enemies.
I go for not getting hit at all, and killing everything from a safe distance, usually with one shot to the head.
You saved yourself there. He kinda had you.
Well, post level 100, you really need to be killing things as fast as you can. I too started out my main character as a stealth sniper, then switched to melee, then finally over to automatics and heavy weapons. I needed the high DPS to kill the increasingly tanky enemies I encountered at an acceptable rate to continue levelling up. Legendaries now make up the vast majority of my weapons, including a Two Shot .44 Pistol, Explosive Automatic Combat Rifle, a Crippling Gauss Rifle, and an Explosive Combat Shotgun. These legendaries are all that is keeping me alive at the moment.
