Sooo...settlers are still unhappy, without knowing why?
....upset settlers, cant find their beds, forget where the water pumps are, etc etc.... So, have they fixed the happiness bug yet?

Do you have the same number of beds as you do settlers? I've seen the problem happen where they are not happy with beds if thier is more then the settlement needs

I've given up on settlers and communities a long time ago. F* them!

I have settlements with both.... samenumber of settlers, and some with more beds than settlers. I have removed all radios/tvs/jukeboxes etc.. Periodically, one of the settlements just NOSEdives in happiness cause i have 'apparently' zero beds, or zero water, or zer defence....until i travel there, and then it fixes itself....except, the happiness is low...sometimes by 15-20 percent.
its a small thing, but VERY annoying, when 'nation building' is the thing i like at this moment...at least until Far Harbour..

+1 I think the devs put this in the game to drive us nuts.

I've just come accross this issue, it would be nice if these settlers told you what they needed. If its a bug has anyone made a mod to fix it?

use a shotgun then replace the meat bags with robots. robots don't need anything or whine about things... they also make raider attacks suffer!

Yeah i haven't really gotten to that part in the game yet, but thanks i'll keep that in mind for future settlements because it would be nice to know why my settlers are just unhappy for no reason. Far as i know i have everthing required for that group of settlers, Defense , Water ,Food, Beds, Power and even have some items that suppose to produce happyness like a Barber Shop.

Number 1 reason for "Inexplicable" unhappiness is a failure to position the bed under proper cover. The best way to test if a bed has cover is during Rain with Rain Occlusion on. If your bed is getting rained on, it isn't considered sheltered.

Some pre-placed beds that cannot be moved succumb to this, most notably Abernathy farm, the bed furtherest in the room with the other 2 will be rained on. If someone is assigned to it, they will have reduced happiness.

I have a couple of settlements that are mainly robots with a couple of settlers... beds will dip into the red if you don't provide enough beds for both the settlers and robots.

Turns out i found out why my settlers weren't happy, that particular settlement required a medical clinic.

You could try building shelter over beds that can't be moved if rains an issue.

I always build beds in rooms with no windows so rain does not enter the area, plus i always make sure every bed has enough room to be accessed from both sides. I usually have more beds then i need so its never a problem. The big issue is not knowing what is needed to raise happyness so you have to try a few different things till they respond.

The TV/Jukebox thing is so stupid. Seems like nobody, unofficial patch OR Bethesda has touched it yet. It seems like such a basic thing to get right as most people would at least want to throw a jukebox in their local watering hole, but I guess all that does is make the people mad.

...or hell. Maybe they just really miss Three Dog.

Started playing Tale of Two Wastelands again this week (it's FO3 and NV combined). Loving hearing from Three Dog again. He has so much more personality than Travis.

I wanted to murderpunch Travis before doing his confidence mission. Actually came to the forums to ask if killing him screws up quests, where I learned you can "fix" him. Turns out that just turns him into your run of the mill top 40 overnight DJ. Screw that.

Three Dog was a cool character. I been thinking of modding Vegas again considering it been years since i finished it, plus i never caught up with the DLC.

I ran around Sanctuary last night and scrapped all the TV's and radios...now I regret doing that and will probably load an earlier save. Other than trying to game the system to snag a specific Steam achievement, I don't see the point in having a town with 30 settlers and 20 bars. I guess I will just have to be happy with 80% happiness.
