Preston Garvey and Colonial Duster

I have Preston Garvey dressed up in U.S. Army issued uniform, full kit of combat armor, and an army helmet. But occasionally, Preston teleports from whereever he got himself stuck, and suddenly is wearing his old Colonial Duster and a Milita hat. What gives? Why does he keep switching? Any way to fix it? Or is any of my mods causing that?

All the NPC's have outfits assigned to them in the CK - this is the stuff they are seen wearing before you mess with them. They won't (at least in past games) wear something just because its in their inventory and they had an open slot.

Most likely this is just a bug from the vanilla game where they revert back to their original outfit on fast travel. Though it *miiiight* be acerbated by a heavy mod load I doubt its any single mod that's at fault here.

Ok. I mean. It only happened three times so far, in about 30 hours of play through, so, it isn't that big of a deal. Not sure about fast traveling, because Survival, duh, but I think it has something to do with the NPC respawning if they get stuck somewhere. Luckily he doesn't lose any of his inventory.
