Food Nolonger Heals?

Just checking I started playing Surival mode and on the notes it said:

"Slower Healing: In Survival, restorative items, like Stimpaks and food, recover your health at a significantly reduced rate."

However Food nolonger recovers any health at all (even says 0 on all foods at HP).
Not complaining just wondering if my game is bugged or this is intentional since the notes say food should still heal in new survival.

am a bit confused about that too, but had a bite and a drink of water and my hp went back up. not sure if it was the food or the water.

food (and i think the same goes for water but im not sure) dosent' heal you IF your already hungry when you eat it. if you are at the most minor level of hunger (pekish) and you eat one of any food you won't heal but depending on what you ate the next food item will heal you, some foods need to be used twise to get out of pekish tho.

I have noticed when I still have aggro from running away and/or fighting mid battle, food don't heal and that's okay with me.

If you are peckish or parched, hungry or thirsty, food does not heal. It fixes your hunger and thirst, not your health.

yes, if you need food or water for being dehydrated for hungry then it doesn't heal, one of the tutorial pop ups explained it, I made sure to reanable my tutorials when first started new survival mode, turned them off again when I figured I knew all the new stuff.

yes to the above, food does not heal if your hungry but will heal as normal when your not.
