Hunger, thirst and exhaustion gauges?
Anybody see any mods floating around to add gauges for the new necessities? Getting a popup every few minutes isn't really that immersive..

Under your AP bar - it will show an icon when you reach the first stage of H/T/S. ANd I believe it changes color at the last or second to the last stage.

It does, but that's just not immersive. I'll take a draining bar over icons any day. Even if it was just in the pip boy.

I'm surprised at how few people I've seen even mention the absence of gauges. It's driving me nuts. Someone pleeease make a mod for this! Or is there one out there now that I've just missed?

Seconded, and maybe a breif explanation of the current effects. Eg. "Hunger", "Parched", "Parasites", etc
You can turn the icons off in the menu. I'm not sure why Guages are more immersive though. They're fundamentally the same.

People want Gauges because they think that level of Detail is necessary.

When you're Hungry or Thirsty, just Eat and Drink until you're not.

If you had a Number quantifying exactly how many "Food Points" you needed, you'd do the same thing anyway.

Go to your Stats screen and press Q.

Actually - we *do* need a number of 'hunger points' gauge along with an indication of how much a given food satisfies hunger.

Open pipboy, eat, close pipboy, look at HUD, open pipboy, eat something else, close pipboy, look at hud, open pipbpy . . .

New Vegas had gauges for Hardcore mode and I loved it. I personally know exactly how hungry, thirsty, and tired I am because I have a body.

Satiation provided by Food is based on its Caps Value. You can read this in Survival's "Help" entry in the menu.

If you're annoyed by how much Purified Water you need; Start making Refreshing Beverages with your water instead. (They're considerably more useful anyway.)

Couple things wrong with this:

1. There are text pop-ups that tell you if you have "Moved Down" a level of Hunger/Thirst. So you don't need to open, close, or sift through the Pipboy that much.

2. You can Hotkey Food, So that's even less Pipboy action. May as well throw your favorite Meat where your Stimpacks used to be. Even has the added benefit of cutting down on your Fluid needs while healing a substantial amount. All without any points put into Medic.

3. You *can* get a feel of how much each Level of Hunger needs if you just pay attention. Example a serving of Radstag will instantly Cure Peckishness. iirc A Deathclaw or Mirelurk Queen steak can instantly cure moderate to major hunger.
