Which is why I wish waiting in a chair or seat would work as a form of Quick save since it fit the idea of "Sleep to Save" and allow people to make quick saves between big fights more easily ands taking less in game time and less effect on Thrist and Hunger and such.
But you can extract MainMenu.swf, modify it to enable saving, save it, and extract it to your data/interface folder
They're are beds everywhere so saving shouldn't be an issue, but then again the beds are only found by those willing to look for them.
This should help. Says beta, but works on my live version.
The hotkey will still be disabled, but the menu saves will function.
That's not a difficulty. That's tacked on stupidity.
Some of us want the immersion factor without added silliness.
My character is not a narcoleptic, thus sleeping in a bed all the damn time would break my immersion and have the exact opposite effect that I'd want survival mode for.
If you are all about the role playing and pretend, just pretend you need to take a siesta every now and again. You know, a sit down, a rest, a short break to catch your breath.
And it is not stupidity, maybe it is in your eyes, but this is something that was planned long ago by the developers. And it is now a part of the game. Part of the 'immersion' of the survival mode. No one is forcing you to sleep every in game hour, or everytime you come across a bed. Just as no one is forcing you to keep it as is. That is the great thing about games like this, if you dont like something, simply mod it till you do.
But complaining about it will never solve anything. Just as my rant here will not change your outlook, neither will your rant change anyone else mind.
You may get a few people who agree, and pat you on the back, but it will not change anyones opinion, and it certainly wont get the developers to cater to your tastes.
Thats what modding is for.
I am a human and I determine the exact second when I finish what... not a ♥♥♥♥ software.
"wait babe, I have to sleep in my virtual world before i can turn off the pc" xD how subhuman we can... you are a freak.
in most games i have a exit macro (F5 > 2s > ALT+F4)
The whole "OH YOU DON'T (insert opinion here about something), SO YOU SHOULDN'T (insert action here, followed by idiotic, illogical statement with something else added, giving a false sense of superiority for no reason)."
It's a single player game. I've been doing what I want with my Bethesda games since Morrowind, as I'm pretty sure everyone else has. ♥♥♥♥ off.
I don't care if it was planned. I don't care if it's "part of the game".
It's stupid, and immersion breaking. My character does not take siestas. She does not stop at a bed every few hours for no reason. Saving is not part of an RP experience, it is an abstract, and save points are not and have never been a part of Bethesda games.
Your statement is ridiculous, by the way. "Complaining" is how "survival" mode because more akin to actual "survival" instead of "all the enemies are massive bullet sponges" in the first place. So we have every right to point out a system that is stupid. This, along with locking out the console (which has already screwed over one of my settlements due to a massive robot corpse I can't disable) and the fast travel restriction which is completely unfair to Institute players.
We will "complain" and we will be heard. Yes, modders can fix these things. But they shouldn't have to.
Setting aside that what you said is completely vapid, if you want that experience, then you can excercise some self control.
I am sick and tired of people like you imposing your standards on a single player game on the rest of us.
Thanks Syne for your input, and the link. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/11542/? I feel the same.
Did you get the mod to work? I extracted to download to the Data folder, but none of my ini files...
~SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Fallout4\Fallout4Prefs.ini
~Users\Gamz\Documents\My games\Fallout4\fallout4.ini
~Users\Gamz\Documents\My games\Fallout4\Fallout4Prefs)
...contain the entry bInvalidateOlderFiles
IE: "bInvalidateOlderFiles should be set to 1 in your .ini file for this mod to work."
I added the line bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 to the ini files, but the save option in the menu is not present ingame.
Any ideas? tnx
If that still doesn't work. Try this.

I haven't used it as I'm fine with the menu saves but others say it works well.
