Could not login to Bethesda.net servers.
I keep getting this message every single time I press MODS, entering my details changes nothing, it says it is unable to connect right away.

Don't do that.

You do not need to log into Bethesda, or click on anything on the main menu, other than creating/loading a game.

Are you using a sweetFX, Reshade or ENB shader by any chance?

I couldn't log into bethesda.net through the game either, until I disabled my Reshade FX

I use all 3 of them and I can log in. Reshade even runs in the CK render window. Makes adjusting lighting alot easier when its running the same tweaks as the game is.

You do NOT need to log into Bethesda.net for anything (so far).

Its mostly meant for console users.

Why does the message read "Sign in the [sic]explore the mods from the Bethesda community" and why has it been put there when it's only avaiable to PC users?

And, whatever the reason, it doesn't explain why I can't login.

Erm, you need to login to even access the mods menu, which accesses the in-game load order

Thankfully you CAN just ignore the new Mods menu and the Bethesda.net login requirements and continue using mods as before. There are some changes to the file formats - that were detailed in Scarecrows (no longer) sticky post about v1.5...that really should have been left stuck for a while longer!! Here's a link:

Many of us are still unable to even create a Bethesda.net account due to website problems, let alone log in and use the new method for mods.

Note: I've applied my mods manually not via NMM and they work just fine. I did have issues due to a bug, as discussed in the linked thread, but copying my DLClist.txt and plugins.txt files to the route fallout4 folder fixed them.

Has this issue been resolved yet? I kind of need to sign into the mods too, because I have two mods that need to be re-enabled every time
Pixidust 22 MAY 2016 a las 7:46 a. m.
Same here, I want to play but can\t because of the mods I have via bethesdas mod downloader thingy

Okay guys, I had the same problem, but this worked for me:

In %localappdata%\fallout4 (just type that in the windows search thingie) I had the Plugins.txt file set to Read Only. Just make sure every file in that folder is not read only, and it might fix it.

Cheers!

If you use sweetFX you need to disable it first if you want to login.
it worked for me

You don't need to log into Bethesda.net to use or manage mods. NMM does all of this for you. You can also manually install and adjust mod order and activation from the plugins.txt file located in your Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4 folder. Just make sure you have an asterisk in front of the file name listed in that file to turn that mod on. Also make sure its set to read only after you make any changes to it so the FO4 launcher doesn't wipe it empty when ever you start it.

I'm embarrassed to say that the reason I couldn't login to Beth was because I was using my Steam details.
