Ummm. . .I went to dunwich borers and. . .
I was doing a clear the raider quest. . .I went to exit and a white flash. . I didn't know what happen so I tried to go back and notice the door was gone. . .I tried to go where the door was and another white flash. Now there are ghouls all over the place. A white flash or 2 later I saw what looked to be people kneeling and another white flash. . .ghouls showed up. . .This is survival beta. . .I'm scared :( I don't wanna die.

FYI: This is my first time playing Fallout 4 in general. I'm a fallout veteran so I know the do's and don'ts in most cases.

EditL the ground seems to shake.

white flash is caused by a "mini-nuke" ( possibly a supermutant nearby ) i noticed that the flash happens even if you dont directly look at the explosion and sometimes at great distances when i barely hear the explosion
...
if thats not what your talking about then i would dig a hole and wait until nighttime to get the hull outa there without having all ghouls on ya

If you know the creepy history of the name Dunwich, from FO3, It's even better.
Yeah dunwich is the supernatural story for fallout. the white flashes usually send you through a flashbackish playthrough of before the bombs. like you are looking through someone elses eyes. it shows people doing their everyday thing. then it flashes back to normal and those people are replaced with ghouls. creepy stuff but fun. i actually haven't ran into that yet in fallout 4 so now i'm all interested.

Same thing as in Fallout 3 at the Dunwich Building. The white flashes and flashbacks mean eldritch horrors are coming to eat your face. The whole thing is a reference to H.P. Lovecraft.
oh...well it wasnt the nukes afterall ...mybad... lol

Jeepers freakin' creepers, this is the first I heard of this - but it reminds me of a dream (nightmare?) I had a few years back, only in reverse. All night fighting these .. ghosts (anyone remember WoW before Cata, that place in northern EK that was plagued with those banshees? Like that place and those things - I had a very hard time with this place back in 2008/2009), with the fourth Doctor and some sort of army (unit?) for some reason. Anyway, come the dawn, they all turned into normal people - businessmen with suits, ties and briefcases, and women in dresses and strollers, like a 1950s perfect small town sort of thing. Yeesh. Woke up sweating.

Now I have to find these bright lights. :)

yeah, first time in lower parts of dunwich is pretty... intense. :D there is also one of the best melee weapons down there.

Before the war, the miners at Dunwich Borers had uncovered some sort of ancient spirit/entity buried in the ground. It affected their minds, and a secret group of miners began to worship the thing in an underground shrine. One of the miners, a guy named Hugo, was immune to the entity's influence, and hid from his colleagues in a nearby rock cleft. The worshippers were expecting the entity to do something spectacular – then the war happened, and all the worshippers were turned into near-immortal ghouls. You can piece together the story from the flashbacks, the evidence you see around you, and the messages on the computer terminals.
