v1.5 "Robots can now be assigned as settlement vendors" Erm, no.
This was mentioned a few times during the Beta, but now v1.5 is Live this feature still isn't working.

Sure, we can assign Robots to stores, just like we could in v1.4. However, like in v1.4, assigned Robots do not get the appropriate "Barter" dialogue option.

Basically, assign a Robot to a Store and they'll move to it, positioning themselves behind it as you'd expect. Try talking to them however and they retain their default conversation options, the player is unable to Barter with them.

Note: I'm using existing (created in v1.4) Automatrons, possibly only newly created robots have the new functionality? I'm going to test that...nope, a fresh Automatron created in v1.5 still retains default dialogue options.

Thought: maybe this feature only applies to a fresh game start in v1.5?

Like with all things in a typical Bethesda games you should always add to every feature of the game "In the best of worlds", or "God willing"

You should post this on their official forum as well.

I would love to but, like many others, I'm unable to create an account there currently due to an error. Hopefully this will be resolved soon. If anyone does have access, please feel free to post on this topic there.

This is true, but that too is v1.4 behaviour. I had a Protectron assigned to the Bar in one of my Settlements, purely for the look of it, as I knew I couldn't interact, and I got a steady income from it.

hmm, maybe it means all robots can be assigned and won't unassign. I know that certain robots(sentry legs) and unique robots couldn't be vendors, well they would unnassign themselves.

I create basic Protectrons as vendors, which are perfectly capable of farming. They're simply missing the appropriate vendor dialogue options, we are limited to just four after all which was a poor design choice in my view.

My synth vendors work just fine.

Join the Institute today for working robotic vendors!

I assume you've gained those via a mod though?

No, silly. They are within the Institute. They are working hard on selling me the same things over and over. And they are synths so.. they ARE "robots" and they give me the barter options just fine. You guys just need to stop relying on trashy junkbots and join the Institute where all the advanced things are~

Did i mention that we have a night and day system inside the Institute? It's really pretty. So come join, really.

Ah, I see. I'll just stick with the squishy humans in my other settlements for trading then. Robots can remain on guard duty.

Well, glad to see I'm not the only person stll suffering from this bug. Misery loves company and all that.

They should just replace the robot vendor dialogue with "NANI O SHIMASUKA?" for all the use they provide.

I've done the math before but lost the numbers, but anyway, the institute pumps out one new synth every something like 1 minute and 10 seconds - assuming that is the only production facility.

So where is the synth army hiding? I'm asking for my friend. He has this cool robot he wants to show them.
