Strange lag/freezing every few minutes
So I've had this issue with other games like Skyrim, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Fallout NV, but its the worse with Fallout 4.

Every few minutes the game will either freeze or half the envirnmental sounds will stop. After maybe 15-30 seconds it'll kick back in agaoin, all the previous sounds playing at once. Play fine for a while, then some varient of that issue with start again.

Somedays it plays fine but usually an issue like this persists. Other games like the new Metal Gear or Dota run perfect.

gpu: gtx 760
cpu: amd fx-8320 8 core
memory: 8 gb
windows 8.1

Yeah I use one of those compressed air dust blowers a few times a month.
I believe it is 550W

Try spooling your GPU fan to 100% with msi afterburner or with your nvidia control panel.

What are your temps for your GPU?

The purpose is to see if the GPU is getting hot and causing the issue.

I know, just at 100% fan speed your GPU turns into a jet engine lmao

^ I took a screenshot of the information afterburner provided after the freezing. You can clearly see some dips in the graphs for that time, although I 'm not sure what they indicate. I have to do some research I suppose.

As for the fan, turning it off auto and to 100% didn't seem to change anything.

I don't suppose anyone has any ideas as to why this is happening do they? I'm really frustrated now, the lagging started as soon as I started up the game this time.

Don't know if it'll help but have you tried disabling the ... before that though, lol.

Thanks for the advice, I'll try that next time I have a moment (the patience) to. Apreciate the help.

In adition to the above advise... try LOWERING your texture resolution to the lowest possible and run the game for a while.

If the problem seems to go away, the issue is that texture fetches to VRAM are not occuring fast enough to keep up with demand because of hard drive latencies.

You might improve matters in this case by moving the game to an SSD, preferably with the operating system on it as well.

I just don't understand why this happens with these Bethesda associated games. It's curious.
