Are armour perks pointless?
I ive played through a couple of times an have used the power armour which is fine. I decided to play again on difficult rather than survival and not use power armour, to explore the other armour opportunities and make it a bit harder. This has been dissapointing.

Yes its harder which is fine but despite putting into armour perks I alwasy found armout better than I could make so so far I have never used them and i'm 3/4 throught the game.

With power armour being such a big thing in the game the whole armour things seems pretty secondary and barely worth the effort.

Also why on earth does Camelion armour screw up your view, what the hell were they thinking?
I'm playing a stealthy type build and all the camerion armour does is annoy the hell out of me to the point I don't use it even with the third sneak perk. Surely a person in stealth mode is at one with the end of their gun, calm and collected, concentrated, NOT completely unable to see their own gun sights!!!! (out of zooming in)

Do many people actually use armour? I know its quicker movement but really "I know i'll head into this raider infested building with a few puny metal plates over me and deliberately leave my hulking great power armout shell that is ten times more likely to stop me dying at home!!!'

Armourer perk is superb
Shadow Ultralight armour is superb for sneaking
you do get some shadow armour fron enemies etc, but ultralight is very rare

what I do is buy all the Shadow leather armour off traders, it's the cheapst and lightest
take the Shadow and other mods off it if it's not good enough for me (want sturdy or heavy to wear)
then put shadow mod on my amrour
Shadow requires oil, which is rare and needed ot make turrets and upgrade guns so much better to take it off found or bought pieces.
extra shadow armour I give to companions
:)

i prefer (legendary) armor parts, which boost attribute stats like str (more cargo) int (more xp) or end (more hp), the armorer skillperk you only need for PA mods and Railroad Mod. otherwise it's pointless cause of the "modded loot & strip it" thing you recognize...

I also play a sneak sniper build and find the arnorer skills worth it for ballistic weave under-armor. I also like to give ballistic weave clothing to companions, Provisioner's, and named settlers (the latter being kind of pointless, but I did actually have Dierdre of The Slog get blown up on a previous play-through).

Ballistic weave is mightily OP.

P.S. I have never yet used power armor in a fight, though I play vanilla survival, not beta.

true :)
but
in earlier part of the game you don't have enough money to easily buy armour off traders, and you don't know/have/meet enough traders early on to fill this need.
and as said even then ultralight armour is very rare.

I keep a set of +int gear for when building settlments for maximum xp, and helpful fo rcompleting big quests
Vault tec scientist uniform and +int glasses (from a mod but the Automatron DLC also has +int goggles)

and my regular armour has mix of legendary effects with int/cha, str/end, agi/per, +poison resist and +luck...so with that why would anyone want to wear power armour which would end those effects?

keep ultalight Acrobat's legs spare but not worn for when I need to jump form up high :P
only got 1 though so far on this play though so hey, no jumping off skyscrapers, lol
