Survival players: Anyone think toughness\life giver perks are good?
Hey guys.

My survival mode character is level 34. I still die from 2-3 hits when not in power armour, even with decent sets of upgraded combat\metal armour on.

I was thinking about toughness and\or the life giver perk to make my charecter less squishy. Can anyone who's tried these perks tell me if they're worth the investment or not?

Or if you have any other idea's to make my character less of a weakling when not in power armour I would like to hear them.

Thanks

Best way to get stronger is to not get hit, sneaky and ninja perks are a must to have. Both perk you talking about are for melee build,so far with the damage increase and the fact you can get sick when getting hit.Melee build a less viable for survival.

My build is a stealth one.Ive grab ninja first and non automatic rifle then weapon craft 1 and 2.Put a silencer on my rifle,0.38 bullet one,i carry 2 of the same gun 1 close combat and one wich is my sniper.I engage them as far as i can first and run hide,repeat...When they come closer i swicht to my close combat rifle.

ive get idiot savant 1 and 2 asap for fast xp since i only got 5 intel for now, then i upgraded my rifle perk when its was available as well as ninja and sneak.I also grabbed local chief 1 and 2 to build city and trade route. When i think about clearing a certain area of the map i claim/look a town nerby and build it so i got bed/safe heaven close.I put a medic store in each town so they can cure sickness or rad for only 15 and 45 caps.Antibiotic is like 350 caps.Right now im lvl 24 and i didnt died yet or had to reload.Ive get the lone wander perk too when its was unlock 1 and 2 and my armor is full updraded with pocket and the first tier armor upgrade.I can carry 225 and when i start a mission i only have like 50 weight.I carry some food/water/500 bullet of .38 couple of grenade/flask and mine.

Later on i will focus on intel to unlock chem so i can produce antibiotic and explosive and max out my main battle skill. Then unlock all those perk related to mat scraping/bullet finding/computer skill and unlocking stuff.

Pretty much my build atm.Hope its help ya

whats your END stats ? END is important in the game now. With 1 or 2 more of them, it will make the life giver perk irrelevant at higher levels

Only got 3 points in END. I'm guessing I might want to level it up.

yeah pure Endurance is a MUCH better boost than "Lifegiver", as it scales as you lervel up
in Survival beta, with couple of peices of +str/End legendary armour, and I think my endurance I have put up to 5 with perks, lvl 87?? I have about 650 hit points

very big difference in survving!

as poster above wiesly says, yeah use sneak and cover to survive!
some fights I run from, or, retreat, sowing a minefield behind me as I do for them to walk into
or
a "frag bomb" them, lob 3 or more frag grenades, with 3 levels in Explosives perk and explosives bobblehead it is a BRILLIANT way to get rid of a bunch of enemies like the packs of named ghouls or rust devils ;)

my common tactic is to sneak behind a ridge, fallen tree, rock or whatever, to have cover between me and target ( read up on the concept of a "Military crest" )
snipe lone enemies, frag bomb groups.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_crest

since enemies in this game do use perception, visibility, light conditions etc versus your Agility score and possible perk and amrour boosts to stealth
using a "military crest" awareness is helpful ;)
