Survival Mode
Um, no. LOL
I've wiped face in the NEW survival mode beta. No drugs, VATS, or PA. Just saying.
*I will state that traveling in the Glowing Realm is easier in PA, but not a requirement.*
:)
Then either you are playing with mods or one lucky dude. Too many things can one shot me, especially in the early game.
How are you getting to Virgil without drugs or a suit? Just asking.
Hard difficulty.
Big time druggie.
Mid to end game power armor cross dresser.
And a hardcore VATS user.
Power to the people baby !
---------
No mods. Um, I have used the PA to get to Virgil, but I've found later that the hazardsuit can accomplish the same thing, but with greater threat.
I'm not lucky. It is all about weapon upgrades, armor upgrades, perks. And being tactical/smart about the situations.
One thing the bothers me about these games is every encounter is always the same. (Don't count the random spawns.) They did this in Morrowind, Obvilion, and Skyrim (which is annoying). But everytime you goto an area (dungeon) the enemies are always in the same place, same stats, etc. So once you have been somewhere and died horribly, the next time you go there you know what NOT to do, and where the enemies are located.
This effectively makes any difficulty trivial and just a series of tactical procedures.
It is no different that any MMO. Once you have done a encounter you basically know what to do and not to do. There is no randomness to the fights. In a single player game this should not be the case.
This is a major downfall for Bethsoft and their counter parts with this engine. It's been this way since Morrowind. But because they HAVE to make a game for the masses, then can not possibly have every "dungeon" be completely random, without preset static spawns. People would loose their minds if it was that close to "real" life. .....
Of course video games have been this way since the 70's/80's. Very few examples exist of actual randomness in these games. A few have pulled it off very nicely. But, when the masses speak, the randomness goes away. :(
I love this game, but it feels like a easy mode MMO/FPS, but without the multiplayer. So sad.
I never use any of them
1. PA is so common I don't even bother using it
2. I only use radaway and stimpacks
3. I can snipe better without VATS.
Nothing worse than deciding to use VATS with a sniper rifle, for a sneak multiplier and watching my character miss both shots, when I could've just zoomed in and manually do a "one shot one kill" myself.
The only time I tend to use VATS is on those annoying AF ghouls and I'll target their legs, I get 13 shots with my fully modded 10mm and Light-Build armor, so I can stop a bunch from doing that annoying 'rush' they do
I applaud your melee build. This certainly changes the game. While I am a sniper at heart, I can certainly understand people trying the melee only build.
or your own homemade insanity.
or a combination of the both.
puts all resorces into perspective.
its easy to brag how easy the game is, and how "one dosent need such items".
try ramping the difficulty to the other end of the extreme..
*complaints of ease,, quickley replaced with complaints of "too hard"*..
Using drugs, that would be chems, nuka cola, and certain foods you can have some really enjoyable experiences in this game.
What; you don't eat a piece of Grilled Radstag every now and then to increase your carrying weight capacity? You don't drink Nuka? Drugs are bad? What are you talking about?
You are telling us you wander into the Glowing Sea at early stages of your playthrough and you don't use Rad-X and/or RadAway? You don't use certain Mentats? PA is cheating? It's like saying driving a car is cheating. No baby, it's efficient. Oh, wait I get you! You've played some 600 hours and you must not have heard; that there's nothing like struttin' around in your PA... ^_-
