Any way to get STURGES off the roof?

In the first settlement I need to talk to Sturges to continue the building quests etc in the settlement.
Problem is he was repairing a roof (no idea how he got up there) and since I needed to talk to him he just stands there not moving from on the roof.
Ive left and continued questing elsewhere but he is still in the same position when I returned -_-

I have thought about shooting his dumbass to make him come down but I dont want to have to kill him :(
Anyone know another way?

You're in a settlement, build some stairs to get to where he is.

Try going to the console, click on him then write: moveto player

Yeah, stairs work. Preston did the exact same thing, stayed up until I made some stairs.

Yea, when Carlas cow was up there, I was so tired of the mooing, I built stairs. It could not seem to use them while I watched, but when I slept and later came to see, it was down.

You could open the console and type "tcl" then just run up to him and talk. (but that's no fun and unimmersive)

You could build some stairs to get up there, but that's no fun because settelements.

You could go with my preference and throw a grenade at his feet to see if he ragdolls off the roof.

I had this issue as well but if you've already completed that first task of building beds, just take a 2 or 3 hour nap on one. When you wake up, Sturges will be back on the ground where he should be. I found him in a house down the street from the workshop house.
