The gunslinger and Automatron
I have Automatron, but I have not played it yet. My gunslinger may not be smart enought to do it. Does it have an option to complete the dlc with low int. characters? Mine has an int. of 3.

Or should I just not do it until I play a smart character?

I love my gunslinger, even with low perc. he is amazing in v.a.t.s.

You don't need any particular stats or perks for the DLC's quests. Only thing you have to build is the Robot Workbench (which has no requirements beyond the actual components) and install a couple of upgrades to Ada (the robot you meet at the start of the questline) that likewise have no perk or SPECIAL requirements.

Now if you want to go beyond that and build anything more complex than basic Protectrons (or rely on Robot mods salvaged from the Mechanist's own robots or those used by the Rust Devils), you'll need perks like Armourer, Blacksmith, Science and Robotics Expert. But none of those are needed for the DLC's actual quests.

The only barrer to entry is a minimum level of 15.
If your above that and still haven't seen anyhting about it then its likely that you missed the message, check the data and radio tabs in the pip boy.

This is a BGS game. There are no more 'characters', only player avatars. And anything can be done by any player without regard to what they've done previously.

So yes - you'll be able to do the DLC even with a 1 INT character.
