A Way to re-enable saving on Survial?
I've put about 8 hours into my survival character reached level 17 and visited many places. I'm enjoying needing food, needing sleep and needing water.

I'm hating the fact that to save I have to run all the way back to whatever bed I can find or whatever settlement I have nearby so that when the eventual BS the game uses to kill me gets me I don't have to redo hours of work.

I want to keep playing on Survival but I'd like to be able to save when I choose to instead of playing by the games rule of "Hope I don't F you over before you find a useable bed"

For those wondering what I mean by BS the game uses to kill so far I've died 3 times in gunfights due to my own stupidity here are a couple of my other deaths.

------

Instantly died to a Legendary Scorpion that shot out of the ground while I was at level 6. He shot out and 1 shotted me before I could even turn and face him.

Instantly killed by a Molerat Broodmother as it shot out of the ground

Instantly killed by a glowing one as he took 6 shotgun blasts to the head and gave me a love tap as he dived.

Instantly killed by my own molotov after Preston decided to sprint into me while I threw it

Instantly killed by Preston after he looted and equiped a grenade throwing it at a ghoul that was 3ft from me

Instantly killed while firing a Fatman point blank at Preston (I accept responsibility for this one)

Instantly killed by a rocket wielding Raider while I was sneaking around hunting Ragstags

and finally the one that helped me reach the breaking point

Spent 20 minutes clearing out Hubris Comics (After walking from Diamond City and sneaking past dozens of raiders and mutants) had a huge battle where a Glowing chased me through the entire building in a Scooby Doo style chase scene. Grabbed the piece of Tech the Scribe wanted and then walked out the door.

The moment the load screen finished I was literally loaded into a group of 6 or 7 named Ferals who killed me instantly before I could even hit vats. I was then sent back 40 minutes to Diamond City.

------

TL;DR I want to enjoy the challenge of Survival (I.E Eating, Drinking, Sleeping, Weight, illness and so on) without having to worry about stupid random insta deaths taking away the last hour or so of work.

The mod posted above works very well. Been using it since he released it without any noticable issues.

I wish they believed in giving their customers options, no matter how good the games are ^^

Everyone wants the game to be more realistic as long as its easy.

Personally I have no complaints with the Beta, I just play a lot more careful and pay attention to where the beds are. If I decide to wander off for an hour or so I realize there is a really good chance I will be starting over.

You do have an option, dont play survival.

Imagine what you would see on the forums if they made it DayZ style, soon as you die you start over.

I don't want it more easy I want the option to disable a stupid feature that forces me to run back and sleep in a bed anytime I want to save.

Imagine what you would see on the forums if people were given the option to custom their experiance to their own likings without locking them out of a more enjoyable roleplaying experiance.

And before you say anything, there is no Roleplaying experiance in running back and forth in order to save.

Here if you care enough about why other people think the Save on sleep is stupid just give this a look

Sigh... Save on sleep does not make the game more difficult, it only punishes deaths more severely. Games like dark souls (which was stated as an inspiration by bethesda) dont make the player lose any game progress, just souls which you can easily reclaim anyway, they were built with that mechanic in mind.
Fallout 4 wasn't and it hurts roleplaying because the player is being punished instead of the character.
If you like this mechanic thats fine, but many players could do without it so dont try to keep them from playing survival because they dont enjoy that one feature for the reasons stated above.

Use the Mod to 'fix' the sleep issue or set up a 'real life' routine of scouting and then returning to base for the night for safety, I think that may have been part of the idea? I tried it, disliked it comparred to the excellent Frostfall and it's sensible options and have not tried it since.

The CK is getting ever closer the Frostfall Author has some big ideas for FO4, if they all work out it will be worth the wait I assure you.

Fingers crossed, Breton Warrior!
