still 2287 though it's almost 2288, then again my longest playthrough is only 60 hours, and I've only gotten as far as "Reunion" my first mission for Elder Maxson has been on hold for the past month and probably will be for at least another month! It might be that I'll never actually finish the main quest as I spend a lot of my time exploring, engaging in combat with raiders, synth's, and super mutants, and building settlements, Plus I do heavy RPGing setting up bases, creating my army, and just enjoying the game!

The US will probably be all rebuilt to it's former glory by the time I finish the main quest :P

In one of my playthroughs I spent so many 24 hours sleeping, to force respawns, food growth, settlers and so on, that I think it was 2294 and I haven't even saved Nick.

I think in Fallout 3 if you pass 30 years your character will die. Imagine what might happen if you wait 30+ years.

Nothing happens, nothing happens in fallout 3 either since my oldest save is 300 years in-game time.

weird i have seen a video before about this but i haven't tried it myself. Too bad then it would have been something funny if you reach Shaun after 100 years and find out that he died.
