Can't use terminals

For some reason now 8 out of 10 terminals can't be used. I press E, the game goes on "halt" like if it's preparing for an animation, then nothing. I keep trying but it's always the same.
There are some terminals that are crucial to the game, how can I fix this?

Sorry to necro but did you ever find a solution? I STILL have this bug 2 years after release and it's pretty game breaking

I think it had something to do with fov, and camera placement. I don't recall exactly how I fixed it but toy around with your fov, third person view, different angles, delete items that are near the terminal except for the terminal itself.

I've noticed that twice just recently myself. In both incidents I was going to release robots. These robots had been released already a short time before. It may have been coincidence that both times were robot terminals when the robots shouldn't have respawned so quickly. The only other thing I can think was recent is I got the hack perk.

been playing this game for quite a while now, and met this bug, like you.
none of those solutions helped me so far.
but when i tried "player.tai" from console, it helped me

Playing the game above 60 fps can cause issues with terminals.

Did you turn off collision in console at some point, and then forget to turn it back on? I think I remember reading somewhere that doing that breaks your ability to interact with some terminals.

You have any mods in the game? I did have one time where I tried to get on a monitor and my character just became completely stuck. Like frozen. It wouldn't sit down and connect. It also wouldn't let me disengage. I couldn't move or walk away. I had to go back to a prior quick save. Then play several minutes over and do it again. I did a quick save right in front of the monitor so if it happened again I wouldn't have to do all that over again. I don't know the problem. Some type of glitch. I see it just sometimes. But not all the time. Monitors are pretty essential for learning the background story. Also for hacking and opening things. Shutting things down. Just all kinds of reasons. It's a must. Not a maybe item to interact with.

Oh my god. This happened to me just now and i didnt know what to do. But when i saw your comment i remembered that by accident i typed tai when player character was selected. If it wasnt for you i wouldnt have thought that was the cause

I tried everything, capping FPS at 60, removing mods and this worked, appreciate it man.

It's the animation of character getting in the chair, even if you're in 1st person POV, it has to run, and the smallest obstacle can cause the animation to halt. I quite often get the "bobbing" effect, you can't disengage, & player won't sit down.

TCL in the console always works for me.

Have you every found a solution? I have the same problem, when trying to use a terminal its like there is no screen( I see right through it)

One possible reason can be a Screen resolution of not 16:9
At least that is what i read
