Recon Bunker Theta....? Help
I stumbled upon the bunker but the computer on the outside says I need a key. I looked around the area and counldn't find anything to help. I went on Steam and didn't find any help. I went on Wiki and learned it was part of the Lost Patrol quest from The Brotherhood. I never completed the quest before killing off the Botherhood but I still have all the quest items in my inventory. I went inside the bunker using "tcl" and it was empty. I mean the Botherhood Knight that is suppose to be there with a special weapon is not there. Is there a way to get the key to open the door that triggers him to appear? Or is this quest line and him just "dead" once the Botherhood is gone?

Wrong again. You get the code for the bunker after you collect the 3 distress beacons and listen to the logs as already said.

It should have allowed you to access the bunker automatically once you had played all 3 tapes, so it looks like the BOS being destroyed wipes out the quest.

Starting the quest only requires going near one of the beacons or getting it directly from Danse if you did not already have it.

Not if the quest hasn't started .... believe me if you find the distress signal a quest start (if you don't get it from the BOS). granted it's a rare bug however there's a quest involved no quest, no code. seen it myself I did the quest came to the first point picked everything up no quest and guess what had the same issue with the bunker. I reloaded before I picked up the beacon.

None of that makes any sense at all. Nothing like you describe for a bug is even mentioned on the wiki.

well I did say it's rare however it does happen sometimes that an occurrence doesn't trigger the quest. Seen it in Fallout, but also in skyrim.

So should I restart the quest via console or complete?

Console commands should always be a last resort.

In 4 playthroughs I have done the quest and opened the bunker without ever even starting the BOS questline.

Ironhead, in all 4 playthroughs were the BOS still around or had you nuked them yet? The problem lies in the fact that I started the quest and then killed off the BOS before finishing it. Unfortunitly I dont have any old saves I can go back to and test my theory.

Bored Peon, whats wrong with console commands? I use them all the time without problems. I have always thought they were safer then mods if they solve the problem. And Steam doesn't punish you for using them like they do mods.

That is your main problem. So you need to use console commands to either finish it or remove the items.

Console commands are a double edged sword, if not used properly you can make things worse.

I never started any BOS quests and I never went to the Cambridge Police station, in my first ever playthrough I found the distress signal by the Revere Station. Then I just followed the holotape instructions all the way to Recon Bunker Theta, The terminal password was in Brandis's holotape.

you have to personal; holotapes and a battlefield holotape, that is the one that has the password to the bunker. no idea if irt will work though with the BOS wiped out.

I think it will. I completed it before starting the BOS and he just stays in the bunker and you don't get the option to reunite him with the BOS. I suspect the same is true if they are destroyed.

I had the same issue, not sure why i did not find the holotape the first time, was it there and i did not see it or was not there at that time (i was sure i looted the scribe), i went back many play hours later (had to fight some more supermutants) and found the holotape. Make sure you have the three holotape, then you should get the password to the bunker.
