Unable to build prebuilt buildings
When I try to build in any settlement, it doesnt give me the option to find/use prebuilt buildings. So I cant even "make" my own vault in the new addon. Any ideas how to fix this? I have no mods installed.

Define 'prebuilt buildings'... there are large and small versions of the wood and metal shacks, and some barns and warehouses, that's about it. Are you modded, or are you expecting something that was never there?

are your structure tabs missing or?

he's looking for a prefab vault..
nice. sign me up.

@ OP -
if you have no mods, then i think you have to complete the vault-tec mission before you get access to vault pieces.
you also need a mod to change a variable that allows you to build with vault pieces anywhere.

Well, he said "I can't even build" which says that's something else on top. So just waiting for OP response, because this could also be a settlement ownership issue.

This.

You HAVE to complete the Vault 88 "tutorial" missions/access the Vault 88 settlement Workshop.

You can drop vault pieces in any settlement once you've finished the missions, no modifications required.

this is the variable i was talking about.
i havnt done any of the dlc yet but this line is in my auto bat anyway.
if youre looking to build vaults in other settlements with all vault pieces then you need this line in your auto bat file.

set dlc06allowvaultanywhere to 1

@ mfree -
ah, ok.
not sure how it works but this line is staying in my file till i can have a proper look at the dlc.

Annnd in my vanilla game I left the vault, headed over to the lighthouse, and proceeded to start dropping 'domestics'. No variable changes.

Granted I started building them *under* the ground mesh as an experiment, but I still didn't need to change that variable.

I just replaced my wooden structure at the drive in with a vault atrium.

Once you become Overseer for vault 88 all the build items are available in your surface settlements. Compleate all 4 exsperiments. I love Ted he was smart. This will piss off the ghoul overseer , but you still get the promotion at the end dispite her displeasure. Your Vualt settlers will love you for following the Will of TED.

As for mods AVOID the Bethesda mod that exspands theVault build limit/settler limit [and a few other game busting affects.] The super Conduit will stop functioning randomly and are not very compatable with vanilla conduits [the vault wall mounted connectors]. They make things that rely on thier power to disappear when the Super Conduit stops functioning. Sometimes the building section the powered item is attached to as well.

Haven't been at it yet, though I did poke at the region with CK and there are some statics with ref IDs that might break the mesh. For the time being it's TCL down and rely on one-sided mesh checking to get back up.

Sorry I was away for a while, but I have completed the "story line" of vault 88, but the tab im missing has more than just the vault parts. The tab im missing is called "structures" if I remember correctly.

Ok, that's a mod problem...
