Fallout 4 Patch 1.7.9 - 1.6.9 Downgrade - (Playable while waiting for F4SE Update)

NOTE: This Downgrade isnt really nessessary anymore since the new version of F4SE
has been released! http://f4se.silverlock.org/
All tough the thread will stay open for those who for some reason still insist on using the outdated version!


This is an easy downgrade method which will work while we wait for F4SE to update.
Simply Take an backup & delete your "Fallout4.exe" From your game root folder.

Then replace It with this 1.6.9 version of that file.

Also if you have the game on steam set the game to only update when launched trough the steam client. Aswell as set the game back to non-beta!

Normally this is all you have to do.
Try launching the game with your old F4SE (Must be version 1.6.9 of F4SE)!

If your still having problems after this, CTD etc'

Try replacing your Fallout4 - Interface.ba2 in your data folder / game's root directory,
with this 1.6.9 Version, might work in some cases:

I second this... I had no idea F4SE would suddenly stop working and render my saves unplayable. side note, anyone know how to clean save files so I can remove every mod that requires F4SE?

Except you can't..
Nobody is opted into a beta, so how are they supposed to opt out of it in the first place?
And even if they are, the public version is 1.7.9
Think real long and hard about that, with the current public verison being 1.7.9

hey guys! if you guys right click the fallout 4 folder, then restore previous version you can get your old folder back by copying it, but you'll have 2 installs of the game

RaggedFountain5 this is wery unefficient & space demanding. but as in the mothod i posted which 100% works. is pretty easy to backup your new 1.7 files and replace them with your 1.6.9 versions!

Thank you Zim for uploading the .exe we just need the Data\Fallout 4 - Interface.ba2
now and it will work as a downgrade patch from 1.7.9 - 1.6.9 I will update main post with both links and know how when we get that file!

Not working for me, i've tried exact the same method and have downloaded these files. Just before the main menu i have a CTD.. :(
