The Watering Hole - Bug

The Watering Hole is a quest for Fallout Vault Tech DLC

I am having a common bug where Clen will not talk after one hour of serving drinks. Please read this entire post before replying. I loaded a previous save as others who had this problem too did. I also chose a different Experiment as others who solved this bug did as well. Either option does not work. Suggestions? Also I would like the player.setstage <code> 700 option if there no other anwer to solve this quest.

I've answered my own question. I'm not good enough to edit the FalloutWiki but this is the answer

Trobuleshooting The Watering Hole Bug

1. Attempt to reload most recent save
2. If step 1 doesn't fix it, try a different experiment type with the terminal
3. Still having problems? Force the quest to close using the following instructions

[PC Only]

Open console and click on an NPC in the game to detirmine the Quest ID. It is not universal. You cannot use the same Quest ID I got. Note the first two numbers. They will be 01,02,03,04,05

Type setstage xx004ad5 700

please substitute "xx" with the two numbers displayed when you click on an NPC

This will force the quest to complete arbitrarily. Happy Gaming

If you have this bug do check that the female settler who came to vault with Clem and the shady dude is free to move to the fountain, there's a conversation between Clem and her that needs to play to finish the quest. Had her stuck in stairs, slept till morning, she had teleported to soda fountain and quest finished as should.

Pretty sure it also literally wants you to find a seat, sit, and press T to wait for 1 hour.

That may not be the issue here, but it's been a problem for many others...

Since this showed up via google, I thought I'd comment with my solution. I fast traveled to Sanctuary and back to move the female settler, and after trying multiple times to get it to work, I shot him till he was down. No one got mad, then he continued talking and finished the quest. Not sure if you'll always not get in trouble, but it's worth a shot.
