Fallout 4
No new storefronts for the vault?
So my nice clean vault is still going to have the same rusty stands vendors sell from in my other settlements? Or do I have to unlock them or something weird?

Try mod "BETTER STORE" on Nexus,

It gives you counters for stores, and added A LOT OF poster and neon light signs

P.S. It's kinda tricky to uninstall, so please read the description carefaully
this one makes a great addition to the rugs and alternative vendor themes.

I know this is off topic, but I think it's all about covered now, so on a similar note- has anyone else noticed there is a hydroponic door sign for vault tech but not so much as a raised planter bed available (let alone something hydroponic..)?
Dev's have been silly and random with their workshop inclusions from the start. Some items you think, who the F would even want this? (like a damaged gas station billboard with prices on it..) while other things you just assume would be there, aren't. What's even more silly is 99% of the settlement mods don't add assets, they just enable the assets already in the game to be used.

Ah well. At least we can mod.

I use Better Stores for venders. You get like half a dozen different counter types to place and heaps of decorations. Unfortunately you can't place the cash register on the actual vendor counter (...well because it's not in Vanilla, sheesh... but it is in Better Stores) but you can snap on other counters (such as a L shape) and put the register there.
I was hoping for more than one nicely new bed. that big one while nice takes too much space. I was hoping to have a brand new bed based on the small ones.

There's two sizes: short and long (third level store).

its not a beta its a actual patch casue the realized they forgot to inplement half the dlc
They released two updates today, one for beta and one for live. The stores are in the patch notes for beta. I haven't checked the actual game though, it is possible they made a mistake.

I will try the mods eventually but after i play all the official dlc. I'll probably just start a new fully modded playthrough and play around with different stuff.
ive installed about 7-8 mods on my real fallout play that only add interiors of all the uppborded houses, its very stable and very fun to have more to find, it is also very lore friendly, only mods i would never add are mods that add new armor or weapons, as that break balanace for me, i have added a modd that fixes all the cloth ballisic weave armors, wich means all cloth can have ballisic weave upgrade, like general armor, and all hats and stuff are removed from the armor upgrade, wich i like to, a hat should not have 110 in deff.
I dig what you're sayin Mumra but I'm ok with it on Vanilla right now. What I usually do is come back to the game a year or five later and mod the ever living hell out of it.

i did notice the sign and no additional planters but we did get additional lights to use over the planters that look authentic. The planters we have however don't look hydroponic, though i have to say my personal experiece with hydroponics has been rather ....limited to specifics.
I usually put the stores in the rundown sections that look ugly as sin anyway, the secondary exit zones. They aren't out of place there and hell one is a store anyway.

Hydroponic the word roughly translates to say growing with water, or without soil. This is right up the alley of a vault and techy things. Some of original hydroponic research was done by NASA, since if they grow in space they don't want to lug bags of soil and manure fertilizer.
So yeah it would have been nice to have it not look like the vault dwellers simply cut a hole in their floor. A raised pot would be a start, but it would be cool if it were something spacey looking like 'plastic pipes' (to give a visual idea) with spots that plants are growing out of them.
Here is a photo of how the tato's could have been grown in the vault:

Yeah but that acually highlights the problem. Some of us want to make shops that look no less convincing than the one in the exit zone. With mods I have.
I've been using the homemaker mod that has store mats and counter tops along with the mod Xnjguy Filled Mods All-In-One plus New Mod by xnjguy[www.nexusmods.com] to make my stores look filled
