Is SKSE needed to install mods?
Asking cause having issues with NMM (buggy stuff yo). I downloaded the mod, installed via + in NMM, clicked the green arrow and then ran LOOT.

Some mods work, some don't. This is under ten mods total.

No problems with NMM here.

If you tell us what mods you're using, which work and which don't, someone might be able to help.

Some mods need FO4SE to run, yes...

Did you put the modifications in the .ini?

If not it might be FO4SE your missing.

I don't even know what FO4SE is. Yes I edited the ini file in my games where saves is located.

FO4SE is the FO4 script extender.
SKSE is the Skyrim script extender.

SKSE is only for Skyrim it will not work for Fallout you need F4SE. And you would need to load up the F4SE .exe not the normal game.

Dammit hah! That what I was referring to lol.

I can just Google it and get it right? At http://f4se.silverlock.org Then rename the FO4SE to fallout and launch via steam then it will think it is the regular fallout right?

No, it works the same was as the SKSE works, you need to create a F4SE shortcut, or launch it from NMM. But yes you do get it from silverclock.

Just remember to get the update after foullout updates or no F4SE fuctions will work, Silverclock is good at getting the updates out in a few days after updates.

Does the game show and get achievements like normal of launched like that? I remember renaming the fallout 3 script extender so steam recognized it. Or NV..I forget which.

It worked for Skyrim but not for Fallout. There is a F4SE mod that enables achievements. By default running any mod with a plugin/esp files disables achievements in FO4.

Well without mods fallout disables achivements when mods are active, but thats beside the point, lauching the F4SE.exe is no diffrent, the program needs fallout, it just launchs fallout with the script extender on top. You can't lauch it from steam but it will still play the steam game with all features. Think of it as a steam shortcut.

There is a mod that re-enables them BTW

Yes, I had played Skyrim on console first so I instaled SKSE fairly early on, and never run Skyrim without it. So if you need proof you can look at my skyrim playtime. It has several hundred hours and achivements, 90% of ot was with SKSE, and I use F4SE as well, they work the same.

Read the installition instructions of the mods, and most discriptions contain compatable and conflicting mods
