I think on the back end of it is a rectangle grey panel you attach to it, or you could just plop one of the small grey power conduits to it that came with the dlc

Afair the connector is at the top of the water pump. I built a generator in front of it (between pump and tunnle entrance near the water) and the cable connected to a spot at the highest in the middle of the pump.

Wow!! I tried that and when the pump is highlighted white the power plants are not and visa versa. As for the conduits where do you run the conduit?? You can not place a white rectangular power point on the outside of a vault tec modual to transfer power from the main generator!

You can place them on the outside of domestic and utility hall pieces.

Ok, I got an outside connection and I strung a power line, hot, out to the Vault Tec Water Pump and I STILL could not power it up!! This is nuts!! Why not a holotape as to what the hell to do!!

Did you turn the breaker on? I believe it's on the left side as you face it.

I have read that sometimes the water pump is broken from the start of the dlc and cant be fixed, same with the powerplant.

I just hooked up the water purifier and ran my wire throw the ceiling and placed two regular floor type condiuts on the roof and then to the water purifier!..

I hooked the water pump to a fusion reactor inside vault building. -talk about long wire. :)

I could not find a breaker on the power unit inside the main vault area, near the exit.

This is weird for I ran a line out to the pump but you need to build a seperate power plant inside the vault complex?? The pump only need 20 and you have 150!! It's not worth the resourses to build try to power it up.
Capt Cliff Jul 29, 2016 @ 1:19pm
It seems it's simpler to just build another pump and power it off the existing power plant. The big unit gives you 100 water and two big pumps give you 80 and you can build a line out to them or build a 10 power unit to run them. Who ever thught of this big unit screwed the pooch!

I had to use one of the tall power poles between the pump and generator, because otherwise the wire was sitting too low to be able to reach the connection on the pump without being blocked by part of the pump.
ragtopbob Jul 29, 2016 @ 1:51pm
I built generators close to the pump but the wire wouldn't connect. I stuck a regular conduit into the cave ceiling above the pump and connected wire that way. Maybe my original angle was to great to make the connection...dunno. I was puzzeled for a bit.

Captain Cliff, the vault reactor that comes standard with vault 88 is not actually connected to anything. The heads up display of the workshop says you have 150 power at the start, because the reactor is active, but it does not connect to anything, including the new vault structures, so effectively you have 0 power.

You have to connect the standard vault reactor to your power grid in the main hall, I recommend conduits, as they can clip through walls with some fiddling. Alternatively you can just build a new vault reactor in the main hall, at which point you will have 150 power available (or however much your new reactor provides), although the heads up display will say 300 (the other 150 being the old unconnected vault reactor).
