I have one settlement making over 1000 purified water and another making about 800. I haven't done anything with sanctuary cause that's where Preston is and those other lazy mofos.
So just verify that you actually can build one with the materials you have cause it wont show up as a placeable object if you don't have the materials available.
(In survival as of Vault tec release, I found I could only put one of each size purifier in my settlements now. Can anyone please confirm. I KNOW THIS WORKS FINE ON NORMAL, WE ARE TALKING SURVIAVAL MODE.) Thank you.
Just for the hell of it I'll drag the necessary parts to Sanctuary and build two industrial purifiers. Just for final proof, because I also generally have nothing to do with Garvey and his losers.
I have been playing this particular playthrough for about two days.
You can use the Sanctuary Hills settlement immediately after coming out of the vault. If you can manage to collect the crystals, you can even set up a recruitment beacon.
Similarly, any settlement you come across that has people, there's somewhere there who'll give you a quest to recruit them. Settlements with no people, you just clear out the hostiles then use the workshop bench.
There's absolutely no reason to let Preston out of his hole unless/until you want cannons. I'm 79 in-game days into my current Survival run, with 15 settlements, and he's still in the museum.
I simply dont see single reason why skip it.
THAT'S GREAT. But another settlement needs your help.
^ there's your single reason. Plenty of others, but that alone would be enough.
