Far Harbor Performance - How is it?
Hey, im looking to buy the season pass (I think its worth it, please no comments on that matter) but I wanted to know if the DLC area is more demanding in terms of performance.

I can run FO4 fine with my HD7970 in the wasteland right now, but wouldnt want to play the game with worse performance (even if its just -5fps) or worse visuals. So is performance roughly the same in the two areas?

Helps for low end PCs Seems only the fog is what can kill fps in far harbor DLC I even use it with my 980Ti.

Also this simple mod http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/15211/? for gods rays

Thanks, however I would rather avoid installing mods that decrease graphical fidelity. The question is: Is it absolutely necessary to use the mod?

Concerning god rays: Got them on minimum anyway, because AMD ;D

I have an AMD 7950 and Far Harbor runs fine

That sounds good, what settings are we talking? And "fine" means constant 60fps?

You should be fine, if you can handle Foggy Weather+Rad Storm in the Commonwealth, Far Harbor's not to much worse than that.

To my knowledge this game can't be run with a steady 60FPS unless you set shadows to minimum. Simply to unoptimized.

*Chanting in the background slowly builds up*
HD Dlc...
*fades*
*Builds up a bit louder*
HD DLC!
*That one was much more apparent, but still faded a little*
HD DLC! HD DLC! HD DLC!
*Storms of players charging towards bethesda asking for a hd texture pack dlc just like on skyrim*

Basically, I realllly want them to release a hd texture pack.

Also, fah habbah should run fine. I had no problems there personally.
Speaking of which im gonna play fo:4 now

In my experience Far Harbor is much less demanding than the main game's downtown area.

Just fine: i can run it at 50-60 fps at 1080p on medium settings

Yup, this. GPU demand depends heavily on the number of objects its rendering. Certain places in downtown Boston have a huge number of objects in the scene graph that cause a huge load on the GPU. In my case I can handle it, but am noticing about a 5fps drop when I arrive at my massive build at Starlight Drive-In. In contrast Far Harbor is somewhat sparse on objects because it's mostly outdoor wasteland. I would compare it to the south swampy region in the main game. If you can hand the southie swamps in a radstorm, you will be fine.
