Vault-Tec Workshop sucks
It really does in my opinion. They give you a gigantic cave, a ♥♥♥♥ ton of new elements with little to no tutorial and expect you to create an actual beautiful thriving vault, but the reality is so much different. It's so tiring to build everything from scratch, it isn't even fun. The cave is grim and dark, and I don't know where to start. I expected them to give the player an empty vault and you could decorate it and all, and I'm really, really disappointed. I'll just move all the settlers elsewhere and leave this vault forever.
What are your thoughts on this DLC?
Also, does anyone know a mod which gives you a ready vault which you can decorate?

Same. I was really hoping I'd spend hours making the perfect vault with a smile on my face, but now when I look at this... ;_;
My vault is coming together quite nicely. It's very time consuming however, but worth it. check out You-tube if you're having trouble figuring it out, that's what I had to do to get me started. Hope it works out for you guys.

Have you guys explored the caves? There is an enourmous place to build including tunnels etc

I've spent hours building, then unbuilding, then rebuilding my vault. It now uses the atrium pieces to have a rectangle second floor with railing and then rooms comming out on the top and bottom floors. While it has been hard to figure out how to get all the bits to work together, so far I have like tinkering with the new stuff. I like that it's very unlike the other settlement pieces already in the game.
Actually I'm also liking how the pieces don't just look different and come together different, but also the difference in making everything all in one building. normally I would just make a town with a shops, different houses, work building, etc, but now I'm trying to lay it all out in one interconnected building.
Right now I'm working on making maintenance corridors which snake around each room, which will be where I run my conduits to power everything.

You expected to get a vault that you just decorate? Seriously? You mean like you put a poster here, a chair there? That sounds boring in my opinion, but what ever floats your boat.

The biggest problem people are having is connecting certain pieces to others. Remember when using a hallway with off-shoot rooms, you will need to build hallway pieces with doorways to attach the new doorway piece to the room from. This is a great xpac and a great new way to build things, it as all other things take some time to learn.
How do you get hallways to attach to doors? Mine just doesn't do it.

there is a specifice hallway piece called Hallway to Doorway which is the piece you need.

Agreeing that it's disappointing. I mean building stuff is nice, but the quest line and the small number of experiments available, four in total, it's like asking for something to eat and getting one cracker. Yeah you got something to eat, but not what you wanted and disappointing.

It's like Bethesda solves problems in the most counter intuitive way possible. Yes it "works", but it works in such an inefficent and stupid way that it's almost as bad as just being broken.

I expected something like an empty Vault 81 :P
How do I connect rooms? Everything in this DLC is so over complicated.

The building is far too constricted for me. Why do the pieces have to snap?
You could do way better stuff if you could place them where you want. Is there a mod for turning off snap?

I'd like snap if it worked properly.

i have 32 People in my Vault 88, have a Garden, a two floor Cantina, a Gym, Sleep rooms, Reactor Room, Casino, Market Place, Comic Book "Shop", small Clinic, Small Barber, big ass Atrium, and i still need to build alot. xD

There are two Caves where i dont plan to build, the One with the Waterpump, and the junk Metro Place.

And til now, i could connect all other caves with eachother, so, it wil be a giant, onepiece of Vault xD
