tunnel snakes rule destroys your game?
freedom calls wouldnt work so i could not get minutemen, and alot of messages seems to been stopt due to tunnel snakes rule being active, after removing the files of tunnel snakes rule, everything workt flawlessly, and i even start getting tons of messages that seemd to have been blocked by the cc content,

what i wounder is, how on earth can bethseda allow an offical creation to be up on the store that bricks your save? if i was playing on xbox or playstation i would have no way to fix it.

why is there no patch to fix the issue? i seen countless threads on this issue reagarding this particular cc content, even the wiki states that the mod breaks the minutemen start quest, wich locks out a major part of the game.

i just dont understand why they are willingly selling something that destroys peoples saves, most players probly dont realize what is causing the issue and will point the finger at the base game, instead of the cc content tunnel snakes rules.

Or you can go to the Tunnel Snake map Dungeon, find the radio and turn it off. This will progress the Tunnel Sanke quest, and:

When you go back to Sanctuary, Codsworth will have his normal dialouge, along with Preston and his crew. All will turn back to normal.

Once you are in the Tunnel Snake caves, you might as well finish it. The Gun is very good.

I have played with Tunnel Snakes from the day they released it, on all platforms, PC, XboX and Ps4. The Freedom Calls bug is the same on all platforms and will restore to normal once you finish the Quest.

I have occasionally had one issue i cannot find a fix for, what happens is on a new game the Vault Door mechanism in 111 freezes up and i can't get out of the Vault 111. Since this happened for the first time way back, i have made a save just before exiting the Vault. I start all my new games from this save, and since you can change both appearance, name and Special it really becomes a new game.

With new names you generate a new save list, and if you change to Survival like i do you also get a new saves list.

Yes, the Tunnel Snake is one of the CC's that is a mess. It is not a pure Bethesda creation, it is made by external developers (modders) and bought into the game as CC.

That is of course no excuse. There must have been some serious lacking in pre-release game testing on it. And it should really have been patched. By Bethesda.

If i have a vanilla game with no mods and no other CC's installed, it usually works just fine. There is something in the script that bugs on other in-game scripts. The strange thing is that it is not always bugging out, but usually. And i have found that the more CC's i have on, the more likely that the Tunnel Snake will bug out.

But i have played a lot with it, and i have the two things i can do to fix it, and they usually works out.

1: After leaving Vaultt 111 you are tasked with "Go Home" then "talk to Codsworth". Normally the "go Home" part triggers when you enter Sanctuary by the same pathway you fled by, upon rounding the corner of the house and spotting/moving towards Codsworth. But TS seem to move the trigger point for this event. I have had it trigger while standing atop one of the ruined houses and jumping around.

You can still talk to Codsworth, but he will not advance the starter quest, not give your spouse Holotape and will not follow to kill off the Bugs.

TS starts by having you "listen to the radio". This radio signal seems to be the one thing that blocks the starter script. Once you have found this radio in the Tunnel Snake dungeon (easy to find and do) the game script on Sanctuary / Concord is reset to normal.

2: Upon leaving Vault 111 i can sometimes beehive (run fast) directly at Codsworth, straight ahead and down the cliff. As soon as your field of view lets you. This lets you Force Codsworth script to run if you are fast enough, by this i mean i do this if i have a ton of other CC's active. They all start loading once you are outside of the Vault, and when you have almost all CC like i have, it takes time for all the text scripts to display properly. If i get Codsworth to give me a Holotape all is fine, if not i just reload from just before exiting the Vault and try again.

1a & 2a: since i have played the game so many times i am not bothered by delaying Sanctuary. I often make a run for Hangman's Alley ASAP and from there set up my base, and go get Piper and then do the Tunnel Snake. When i return to Sanctuary all is as it should be.

I don't write all this stuff to make excuse for Bethesda, but to tell you that your game is not broken beyond repair, it just forces you to delay the starting area of the game. A Bummer but your game will be a good one once you have done the Tunnel CC. And it has a lvl rec of lvl 5 +, so it is very doable super early.

ya thanks for the good response mate , i have manged to get it working with tunnel snakes, but ye i just thought it so wierd that something that is offical and might harm the orginal product was left in thes state as it shines badly on bethseda themself. hopefully they fix it in the updated version coming in 2023.
