Do you feel that people saying vaccines are safe are responsible for the 1 in a million case of violent and potentially lethal adverse effects? Am I responsible for the man who fell and hit his head whilst ice-skating because I said that "ice-skating is a fun activity"? Do you think anyone who ever lamented that politicians generally suck is responsible for the lunatic that showed up at a baseball game and shot a sitting US Congressman?
Do you hear how feeble and indefensible your argument is?
Once again, Piper did not cause the fear of the Institute and the Synths. That fear has been around the Commonwealth for decades, so much so that the Institute *is* the boogeyman of the Commonwealth. And though Kyle might have had an irrational fear (how the heck can you define a fear "false" is beyond me) there is nothing in game that suggests that fear was provoked solely or even for the better part by Piper's article: how do you know that he did not react like that because he heard of what happened at University Point? Or that he met a traveller who had the same experience as our friend Art? Or walked by as the synths were just murdering the raiders in Malden? Or countless other possible scenarios?
Once again, had Piper said "kill your siblings, they are synths!!" then you might fault her. But she did not. All she said was "this happened 60 years ago and I was wondering how we can be sure it won't happen again".
You really should take a Logic 101 course because time and again you choose to focus on a single fact (though correct as it might be) and completely ignore or discard anything else that happens elsewhere or has happened before. Really man, it's embarassing.
Is there any way to kill Valentine, btw?
Most of the time it seems like shes reporting whats going on and shes mostly right from what we have seen and heard.
The shooting in Diamond city for example where people blame the paper and Piper for it yet exactly the same thing happens in Goodneighbor and this time the person shot IS a synth infiltrator.
That's not to say shes always right. Take her to County Crossing and she will sometimes ask a farmer if hes worried about the institute infiltrating and poisoning the Commonwealths food supply and he says "I am now"
Here's the other side of that coin, was the news outlets responsible for the riots that happened after they reported George Floyd's death?
After all if they hadn't reported it then people(or atleast fewer people) would of known and therefore wouldn't of had a reason to riot. I'm sure plenty of people and businesses that had nothing to do with what happened to George Floyd got hurt.
No, all they did was call attention to a issue, just like Piper is calling attention to the issue that Synths are in fact around and replacing people despite Mayor McDonough continuous insistence that there aren't any synths replacing people in Diamond city.
Then again, there are lots of folks around the Commonwealth who've been influenced in some way .. enough to be unreasonably paranoid. Enough to be dangerous to themselves and others.
Now that I think about it .. oddly enough it reminds me of the current political "poker" playing both sides are doing.
Which gives me reason to pose a solution:
Stop listening to both sides and look at the evidence. Come to your own conclusions.
However. it invokes unreasonable paranoia which causes one to even question simple habits. (Such as being thought of as being a synth since you simply leave the lid/cap off your tooth paste tube). This one a guard said to me in Diamond City Jail referring to his wife.
In just that moment of hearing that, I thought to myself: Are you serious??
