Neither Kyle or Riley were synths: Proof!
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2892759082
Here you see that Riley, the man in Diamond City who was accused by his brother Kyle of being a synth, has no synth component, and thus was not a synth.
Point being that Piper Wright is a fear monger and got Riley killed.

I was wondering, do you fell that racist who encourage racism are not responsible when someone was lynched unjustly? (lynching is never justtified, btw).
Just asking, because the ethics seem clear to me. You cause people to hate their brother, then you've taken part in their brother's murder. That's something I was taught for the last 3 years.

Do you feel that people saying vaccines are safe are responsible for the 1 in a million case of violent and potentially lethal adverse effects? Am I responsible for the man who fell and hit his head whilst ice-skating because I said that "ice-skating is a fun activity"? Do you think anyone who ever lamented that politicians generally suck is responsible for the lunatic that showed up at a baseball game and shot a sitting US Congressman?

Do you hear how feeble and indefensible your argument is?

Piper took part and lives by fear mongering. This is blood on her hands.
My argument was not about correlation, so... not relevant. It was saying a synth is dead due to irrational hysteria that Piper encouraged to sell her trash paper.
This isn't science. Science is about testing hypotheses to see if you can falsify them. You can't test fiction. It's about reason and morality.
Fact is, Kyle had an irrational and false fear that, if you listen to Nat her little sister, was used to sell Piper's newspapers.

Once again, Piper did not cause the fear of the Institute and the Synths. That fear has been around the Commonwealth for decades, so much so that the Institute *is* the boogeyman of the Commonwealth. And though Kyle might have had an irrational fear (how the heck can you define a fear "false" is beyond me) there is nothing in game that suggests that fear was provoked solely or even for the better part by Piper's article: how do you know that he did not react like that because he heard of what happened at University Point? Or that he met a traveller who had the same experience as our friend Art? Or walked by as the synths were just murdering the raiders in Malden? Or countless other possible scenarios?

Once again, had Piper said "kill your siblings, they are synths!!" then you might fault her. But she did not. All she said was "this happened 60 years ago and I was wondering how we can be sure it won't happen again".

You really should take a Logic 101 course because time and again you choose to focus on a single fact (though correct as it might be) and completely ignore or discard anything else that happens elsewhere or has happened before. Really man, it's embarassing.

It is a shame that I cannot transform Valentine and Danse into robots, as it works the other way around with Curie.
Is there any way to kill Valentine, btw?

Oh, and you figured that out all by yourself? Guess why I posted it.

In Pipers defence she is as far as we know the ONLY investigative journalist currently operating in the entire world and don't forget there isn't exactly a university or on the job training to learn this stuff.

Most of the time it seems like shes reporting whats going on and shes mostly right from what we have seen and heard.

The shooting in Diamond city for example where people blame the paper and Piper for it yet exactly the same thing happens in Goodneighbor and this time the person shot IS a synth infiltrator.

That's not to say shes always right. Take her to County Crossing and she will sometimes ask a farmer if hes worried about the institute infiltrating and poisoning the Commonwealths food supply and he says "I am now"

It's rhetorical. You aren't the brightest, huh?

Here's the other side of that coin, was the news outlets responsible for the riots that happened after they reported George Floyd's death?

After all if they hadn't reported it then people(or atleast fewer people) would of known and therefore wouldn't of had a reason to riot. I'm sure plenty of people and businesses that had nothing to do with what happened to George Floyd got hurt.

No, all they did was call attention to a issue, just like Piper is calling attention to the issue that Synths are in fact around and replacing people despite Mayor McDonough continuous insistence that there aren't any synths replacing people in Diamond city.

A lot of media was going around saying it as great and they agreed with the riots, though. Really, really bad example. Only got away with it cuz it was 'blm' and 'antifa'. Can't speak bad about anyone unless it's white men, and people will look over way too many illegal actions when it comes to these groups. I said no real politics, these are just the facts. If you got an issue, you need to reevaluate your position.

I think if anyone has been seriously influenced by "gossip", it's Piper's little sister.
Then again, there are lots of folks around the Commonwealth who've been influenced in some way .. enough to be unreasonably paranoid. Enough to be dangerous to themselves and others.
Now that I think about it .. oddly enough it reminds me of the current political "poker" playing both sides are doing.
Which gives me reason to pose a solution:
Stop listening to both sides and look at the evidence. Come to your own conclusions.

It's reasonably paranoid. If someone could break into your house without anyone knowing and replacing you with a copy to prey on your friends and loved ones, you would be 'unreasonably' paranoid too.

Apologies for spooking you. I have a tendency to keep editing my posts till I think I've covered the bases.
However. it invokes unreasonable paranoia which causes one to even question simple habits. (Such as being thought of as being a synth since you simply leave the lid/cap off your tooth paste tube). This one a guard said to me in Diamond City Jail referring to his wife.

Spooking? What an odd turn-of-phrase xDD I mean Good Neighbor seems to get the synths that way, so it's reasonable. If you remember what Hancock said and i'm paraphrasing, 'Look for things they normally wouldn't do, act in ways they normally wouldn't'. He isn't saying shoot on sight. Just look for the behaviors until you can't ignore it's likely not who you think it is anymore. At that point? Idk. The game never specifies. It didn't really need to. Also the DC Guard was likely just a joke by Bethesda, as who would calmly talk about their wife having already been replaced? That's how I always took it.

It kind of begs the question of whether or not the guard was being serious.
In just that moment of hearing that, I thought to myself: Are you serious??

That is true.... but i always took it as a joke. It seems too intentionally ridiculous for it to be 'real'.

Once off it's easy to just think it a joke, but we get that alongside a guy being shot dead in the street, and comments about Geneva's hair, and Myrna's paranoia, and Piper writing about it, and even Becky Fallon assuming her husband was replaced because "Well he ain't here anymore, that's for sure."
