get the right perk
try not to attack anyone higher then you
use a long rifle .50 gauss rifle. max those perk
and get a power armor buy core get core make it your only priority in the first 20 level of your life improved the armourer perk.
stay clears of trouble until you can handle heats
maybe you need to repair
you power armor part????
to sum up: if u cant survive in fort strong, come back later when u have bettter level. Sure baddies level with you, but when u nerf ur armor and guns and get proper perks u win much easier.
After getting Chemist, Lead Belly and Chem Resistance, I chose Armorer and Science and started out upgrading my T-45 to lvl C.
I wore it until I found a full set of T-51 which by then I could take to I could take to level E.
Then I found a full set of X-01 and took it to lvl VI.
That's something to consider. Don't waste your upgrades on existing armor. Level up your perks and apply the upgrades to a better set each time.
X-01 survive 100000*more then t-45 and I never was one shoted like in t-45.
I had extreme problem in automatron final mission with X-01 but it is nightmare on survival and last mission for institute was even hell but rest is easy.
Better pa mod only takes damage to bits hit and your health don't go down until that part is fully destroyed then only that body part takes damage.
MPPA mod just gives power armor more armor rating. Survival torso is 120, with MPPA you torso is 200. That's t45 basic.
I also use damage threshold and arbitration and better locational damage.
Small arms fire is supposed to bounce off your power armor but a few powerful auto can shred your armor but you won't die until your armor is broken
I agree with you that the T-45 is weak compared to the X-01. But it is possible to use Power Armor from the beginning of the game. I did. The only time I parked it was a few times running back and forth between Hangman's Alley and Sanctuary to turn in quests and at the very beginning while doing a hubflower run around Sanctuary. After than, I found enough Fusion Cores to use it all the time and of course once you get to DC they are available for purchase. But I don't think that I purchased more than 4 or 5 this entire game (usually trading 2 spent ones for a full one.)
Besides still dying in 3 hits anyway even with mods that rebalance damage and such
Yea it's pretty slow, fusion cores cost a lot and heavy , but without power armor? welcome to the desktop.
I usually get companion carry 3 cores, and I carry 3, not big deal. The 6 cores are even lighter than normal armor.
No cores early game? the police station in quest "fire support" has 5 cores.
no swimming but has oxygen so you can be underwater for a considerable amount of time. you can possibly get your power armor stuck down their though.
the armor works all survival does is more dmg not armor piercing. that said things like poison bypasses armor.
yep slow and rp wise i like stealthy and feels bulky. plus more challenging.
Look don't get upset - the game is intended for adult children and console gamers; therefore it's meant to be ludicrously easy, even on Survival, with a controller and distractions... each Fallout game gets "worse" as more the audience for it is wides the appeal, and the market gets larger... dollah dollah bills always come before graphics, game lore, combat style, everything. That's just the way it is.
Thank the Great Satan they make it so easy to edit and give us the basic GECK (now just CK) that all the other tools can be based off without too much reverse engineering.
If you don't like your power armour damaging that fast? Make it tougher, why not give each piece of your PA the "almost unbreakable" stat? That'll up the armor by 4x, you'll do a lot less complaining. (and also repairing
Take the pieces off your PA frame, then drop them on the ground, open the console, tag one, type 'amod 1f1e0c', tag the next piece, up arrow and amod again, do this for all 6 bits, close console, pick em up and reinstall on the frame.
And if this is not enough for, well, there's mods for that, as they say. You can make it truly indestructible, and never have to repair it, and can't easily die from anything smaller than .50 because small low-power lead bullets just bounce off... head to nexusmods.
