Playing fallout 4 slows down internet badly
Whenever I play Fallout 4 my internet slows down badly which doesn't make sense. First off I don't have steam cloud server sync on steam since my internet is already bad and it takes forever to sync. Second off fallout 4 isn't an online game so I dont really understand why it does this, my internet is faster when playing Gta V online than fallout 4. If anyone has had this problem and knows a fix please let me know.

Might be slowing down your computer, making pages load slower, which gives the illusion that it's your internet.

Ah. Hmmmm...

Can you confirm that it's Fallout 4 itself? Or is it a background process related to it (Bethesda.net, Nexus. Steam, etc)?

I'm not sure, then. Try a website like Tom's Hardware, they usually know what's up with stuff like this.

I'd recommend running a malware/virus/rootkit scan with a utility like MalwareBytes Anti-Malware (RECOMMENDED, there's a free version available), Rootkit Remover/Scanner (MalwareBytes makes one too), AVG or even Windows Defender.

Fallout4 really doesn't have any components by default that would be affecting your Internet access as a whole and may be more signs of something else going on under the hood.

How do you know? Have you run Speedtest before and during?

How much is it slowed? Metric, metric, metrics - not anecdotes.

Try Auslogics duplicate file finder, registry cleaner and disk defrag. Those clean up your drives nicely and keep your pc running fast. I also use malwarebytes and Avast. All free programs.

This isn't about my PC running faster but I'll be sure to try and do this so my PC doesn't slow down too badly

Fine, don't try them. I honestly don't care. My pc kicks ass, yours doesnt.

So does my internet.

A single, player game with online component is slowing down your internet? Yes that makes perfect sense
