Separate Iron man from Survival mode
I love survival mode. It reminds me of some of the great mods from Skyrim like Frostfall. One of the great strengths of these mods is that the player gets to choose how much realism to add, and none of them force you into iron man mode. Iron man mode is something I would never choose and that I strongly dislike, but with Fallout 4's survival mod I do not get the choice.

By all means, disable achievements if we disable iron man, but PLEASE let us use quicksave. I want to enjoy the game and play, not lose hours and hours of settlement building or whatever because I got caught by a suicide mutant or a lucky headshot.

Thank you

The inability to save ad hoc is what really forces me to be strategic about how I play.

Sometimes I wish there was an alternative as it can be way too brutal, but at least I can't steam roll save through the game (because there are crap tones of times that I would if I could).

I do feel that it was a mistake for Bethesda to combine the "survival simulation" elements with "artificial difficulty boosting" elements in their new Survival Mode. Many people just wanted to add survival simulation mechanics to their game, similar to Hardcore Mode from New Vegas, but were not looking for a new difficulty level with arbitrary restrictions.

That said, there are certainly many people who seem to like the Survival Mode in it's current form. There are also several user-made mods that can re-introduce various types of saving mechanics into Survival Mode.

Personally, I've been using a mod called "Hardcore Mode [ON]", which essentially introduces all of the survival simulation elements into my game, while removing other aspects of Bethesda's Survival Mode that I find to be unenjoyable.

Like Gamespot said, a great site for gamers, "Survival is how Fallout 4 was meant to be played".

If they add an Iron man to survival mode that would be cool. I would try it, but it would be tough.

"Hardcode Mode [ON]" eh? I will have to give that a try. I have a roommate who likes to blowdry her all all the time (LOL), but her hair dryer must be super because it always trips the circuit breaker, dropping all power to the house including my pc and therefore Fallout. I really need the ability to save without a bed.
