Clem won't get on the Power Cycle. *SOLVED*
Okay, so I got to the part (vault tec workshop) where I have to "Push clem to the limit, the power must flow." Except, when I place down the power cycle plus the terminal, he walks towards it like he's going to sit on it (everyone else gets on it just fine, it's just this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ that won't.) and just stands next to it, as if going like "DID I DUN IT GEWD? DURR" so... the one ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ npc I need to use the power cycle, won't. So, I can't advance the questline normally. Anyone know how to fix? I've tried ordering him to go onto power cycles several times, he just won't.

PS ; If you're gonna comment JUST because I'm a furry, save yourself some trouble, and go chug some bleach. I'm looking for a fix to a problem, I'm not pushing anything down your throat. :FastFood:

I found a workaround. I opened the console and got the code for the "power cycle 1000 Prototype" which is not the one from the resource menu.
1. open console
2. help "power cycle" 4
3. player.placeatme 05004bf9 1
4. move the new cycle to right it
5. build a second cycle from the resource menu to get the quest to progress.
6. Wire everything up generator>terminal>bike>bike
7. choose experiment parameters

once that was done Clem got on the bike I built and it still exploded, progressing the quest.

Sigh, nothing here works for me.

so
What happend is you did "scrapall" in the console because you are lazy..
Then you had all the prototype docs in the work shop.. when you should have been given them by the overseere..

ANY way

your gonna need to get the prototype bike which should be under "special" but its not there due to the scrapall thing..

So noe you need to go to console and type
help 1000 0
It will give a list of items find the prototype bike and then type
player.placeatme xxxxxxxx
Replace the xxxxxx with the code for the proto type bike..

Wire that up
generator terminal proto type bike..

Clem aint getting on..
NOW
go to resources and build a 1000 bike (not prototype) and wire that in too...

so
generator>terminal>prototype bike>non prototype bike.
You can use the terminal to set the environment variables because its connected to the proto type bike,
and clem will get on the bike 1000 (non proto type)

Morral of the story??
Dont be lazy and dont use scrapall unless you know that you aren't gonna mess up quests by doing that.

Sorry for the necropost, but this is on subject.
You don’t need the console to complete this quest at all.

After you build the small generator, the powercycle, and the terminal, and wired the latter 2 to the generator, you must use the terminal. When you’ve read through the terminal, Clem will hop on the powercycle right after that.

Why the game doesn’t state to use the terminal you built is beyond me,

I had the prob that none of the new settlers would move into the right positions. I ended up using the place everywhere mod. If you press ins, it let's you pick people up and move them around. I picked him up and dropped him on the bike. He didn't fall straight on but he did choose to get on after sliding down the side of it.

None of this worked and it's not worth starting a new character after I bought the DLC late. Worthless trash and a waste of money imo. I just killed everyone instead.

Solution is easy. Attach a monitor, found in Power Misc, to the bike. Attach it to a generator so it works. Open the monitor and select a training routine for Clem and he will start cycling

I feel like a more recent game update broke the Vault DLC somewhat. Yes, I realize this thread is old, but I figured I should add my experience anyway. I'm aware this might be a problem on my end but I seriously doubt it for reasons I'll list below.

I've done this DLC start to finish like 6 times total ever since it released without any problems, did it again very recently and had a lot of issues with Clem interacting with all the different prototypes. I managed to get things to work with a lot of save reloading and sleeping in a bed for 1 hour to "unstick" the NPCs but that didn't always work.

I also noticed it seems like the vault's navmesh is completely broken. Nobody wanders around like they used to, they just stand in place and teleport to where they need to be if you get lucky. It took me like 30 minutes of save reloads and resting just to get Clem to give soda to that random lady settler since nothing progresses unless her dialogue gets triggered which simply wasn't happening.

I even had to click on Overseer Barstow and use moveto player just to get her to move to the entrance of the vault for interviewing Clem and the other two settlers near the beginning of this DLC since all she did was stand at her desk like a moron. I slept for 3 days in the vault, she didn't move. I left the vault and slept another 3 days, went back, and she still didn't move.

Also, if I clear the mirelurks down in the cave where the water pump is, it completely breaks my game because saving after I go down there freezes every single time.

Even if I kill the mirelurks and leave the vault entirely and save, it gets stuck in an infinite loop until I kill the process in task manager. If I avoid the mirelurk cave area my game is fine, so I just ignore that entire part of the vault.

I never had a single issue with this DLC before until I started playing again a couple weeks ago. It isn't a mod issue because I'm not using mods, it isn't me doing something wrong considering I've done this several times before without any of these problems, my OS hasn't changed, and my PC's hardware hasn't changed at all so it isn't that either. Navmesh works fine everywhere except the vault.

I doubt beth will ever fix anything with this DLC if it really is a new problem introduced with a game update, but I insist something is definitely wrong with this content now, somewhere. It wasn't like this at all when I played through this content all the other times.

If anyone new is having these problems, my advice is don't even bother with this DLC anymore. It took me several hours of save reloads and other nonsense just to beat it when formerly it would only take an hour and a half before this all broke and I don't even get anything out of it other than some stupid gadgets I can build that I'll never use.

The content isn't worth it when it doesn't work.

Yeah everything is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ beyond belief. Somehow I managed to get to the last quest with console commands but it is bugged too.

My thread on reddit, trying to get some help there too.

To lazy to see if youve guys solved it
Power it up to the Vault tech Reactor
Tell it to produce extra power
initiate the program
Clem will start cycling to increase power
and sadly live

Guys another way i found out is by getting a small generator to power the terminal that is also connected to the bike, then follow the steps and accept the power options within the terminal and it causes that part of the quest to be completed

I tried
1. Console
2. Power generator
3. Working time
4. Sleep
Nothing works for me.
Glem just stood there and did nothing.

At last I found a easy fix.
1. Attach the terminal to the bike.
2. Fast travel to Vault 88 again, then go back to Glem.
3. He is now on the bike and talking.
This nightmare costs me mroe than 1 hour......:cozyspaceengineersa:

Beyond a lot of people as a few of these topics keep appearing.

You have to use the terminal in order to choose which of the three settings to use. That works the same for all the devices.
