Achievements isn't unlocking?!!

They were working perfectly months ago and I stopped playing until a week (right after patch 1.6) I started to play again and I noticed that sometimes the achievements works but most of the times it doesn't! and steam overlay is the same!! is this a bug or what?! is this happening with anyone else??

And NO I'm not using any mods, never did and never will.

I'd say installing the Achievements mod and F4SE wouldn't hurt. It may override whatever he's got in his game that is preventing cheevz from triggering.

Console commands disable achievements only for fallout new vegas untill you log out of the game and log back in, only mods disable achievements on fo4, though bethesda is thinking of enabeling them again for the pc in the future.

I am constantly tinkering in console mode, with a vanilla game. I have never had issues with achievements, in fact, I think I finally bothered to get Return of the Prankster just after patch 1.6 dropped. If console commands disabled achievements, I'd have about 3.

Unless something changed extremely recently (like after the first 1.6 patch), console doesn't affect anything but what you command it to.

Was just relaying what i've read in several threads about this issue, but can't really test this out myself, since i don't get any achievements at all for some reason, even with the FS4E+achieve mod enabled.

This is really annoying as hell -_- I never used any mods and never used the console and yet I didn't get a lot of achievements (specially the achievements of Far Harbor and Wasteland Workshop) and some of them can't be re-done to get them again! I wish they see this post and fix these achievements in the next update!

there is no place for achievements in an RPG in the first place if you ask me. I have over 1800 hours in skyrim but have managed to get only 75% of the achievements, why should I strive to get an achievement that requires me to have a bounty on my head in every hold if that is not the sort of character I am role playing as?

Yes, you're right. As soon as you open the console, it will disable achievements during the rest of the session. Well, i don't know if it adds a [M] prefix after that to a saved game.
Perhaps someone else can clarify that.

I'm using FS4E with the achievements enabler mod (from nexus). Which doesn't work for me, lol. But at least i don't get [M] prefixes :P

Unlike in the previous games, using console commands will not disable Steam achievements for the current game session.

Start a new thread. This isn't the place to discuss the merit of achievements, this is a thread about a user who is having trouble unlocking achievements.

I think I know now what is wrong now! in the past few weeks Steam Overlay doesn't work sometimes when I run anygame! I have to restart Steam to make it work! and when it's not working the achievements won't unlock! I have to restart everything with Steam Overlay enabled to get the achievements again! which is SO VERY ANNOYING.

That'll do it. Ran into a similar issue with Spiral Knights way back when. Steam Overlay would iften crash the game, notoriously so when you tabbed out with overlay up. Friends and I disabled it to stop the issues, but then found our achievements not unlocking; had to make new characters in some cases to get missed credit. Glad you were able to figure out what went wrong!
