Best way to transport loot?
Hi!

So I just recently bought the game and was wondering, what's the best way to transport loot back to your home base? Are there mailbox thingies similar to New Vegas? Are there any good mods?

The thing is, I'm playing on survival difficulty and I've found that I get full too quick, even if I don't pick up most of the stuff. And I don't want to spend all my time running back and forth.

Connect settlements with supply lines is the best way to get supplies to various settlements. As for gear...short of turning your companion into a pack mule there's really nothing to be done for the rate at which you have to return to base to sell/scrap junk.

Not sure if there's a mod to automate it but considering you want the difficulty of survival you may as well flip it down to normal and fast travel back if you're gonna use a mod.

make bases out of the settlements. there's quite a few of the "Clear the place out and set up" settlements to go out and claim, and a few settlements that ask you to clear out another one. Make caches in your settlements.

As for transporting goods, there's no mailboxes, but supply lines can run junk items between settlements. If you're wanting to lug everything to one place though, can probably pack everything onto a small corpse/corpse bit and carry it. That or make multiple trips with a packmule companion.

as far as mods go, there's none that add courier mail boxes that I know of (Though I can see that being something to implement for settlements) there are some settlement fast travel mods.

w/o mods?

Vertibird (which you can use regardless of how overburdened you are); or building Automatron bots, loading them up, and having them relocate to your destination settlement.

Vertibirds are not a great way in survival though, as you take damage while
carrying too much weight. could just use a follower or some of the backpack mods.

This is a life saver for me on survival aswell

He's **JUST** started the game and everyone is flooding him with cheats...:steamfacepalm:

Use you NPC companion, which is more likely Codsworth? Use him to carry everything inc salvaged weapons. When you fill up with 'junk' speak to him and 'trade' cycle to your inventory and junk inc weapons then just keep selecting it and it will transfer over to him. When your back at your workshop talk to him again and transfer all 'junk' back to yourself and then turn and interact with your workshop. I use a PC XBox controller and press one button, it appears on the bottom of your screen, 'Press '##' to transfer all junk' that empties your inventory. You will have to manually select old junk weapons etc to put into your workshop.

Later on when you've got the trader perks, you will create supply lines and have access to ALL of your stored junk from ANY workshop that's connected by your supply lines. In the emantime, your junk is only accessible from the ones your put junk into.

Once you build a robot with the Season Pass Automatron, it can carry something like 400 of junk etc. Then your cooking with gas :steamhappy:
Play the game properly and you will enjoy it.

I have to agree with this.

OP said that he doesn't enjoy the carry weight restrictions. The expedient solution would be to remove the carry weight restrictions (e.g. type "player.modav carryweight 500")

Play the game properly and you will enjoy it.
We'll have to agree to disagree - Fallout 4 would have been a better game if crafting (and legendary modifiers) had been scrapped entirely , and I'll use the console to fix the damage Bethesda did to the game by including these systems designed only to waste the player's time.

I have to agree with this.

1500hrs and my game has never been vanilla other than the day i installed it.
hundreds of mods and what must be over 1400 bat files by now.

i dont just sandbox the game, i make glass out of it too.
play the game "properly" according to who? in comparison to what?
and dont tell me me that the vanilla parimeters are the "proper" way...

in this game, "proper" is however One wants to tackle/approach/play it.
not,, the multiplayer community..

Strongback perk to the max. Even in survival, at level 4 overstuffing your pockets stops hurting you. In 'regular' gameplay, you can load up and still fast travel. Only needs STR 6 to start packing it up...

Sorry, I have no interest in mods whatsoever, so I can't be bothered to look.

But I have nothing against those that choose to mod.
