Double barreled shotgun drop and level.

Hello, im playing in survival and trying to roleplay some kind of wild west badass with a shotgun, the thing is...:

Im using double barreled shotguns, and im wondering if i ll be able to get a legendary one eventually considering that im already lvl 20+ and enemies started droping combat shotguns and rifles.

So in short, does the double barreled shotgun drop after certain level?

I may be wrong, but I don't think there's a particular level, there may be a minimum level that it would drop at, I'm level 70, 850 hours don't think I've seen it drop, I'm not survival though, and no mods.

Seen one at level 15 once. Haven't seen one since. But I think legendaries have a minimal unlock but beyond that it's just chance. Given that more optios unlock the higher level you get I assume the chance does go down.

You can get a double barrel shotgun at level one. It probably the second most common weapon in the game, after pipe rifles/pistols. There's a good chance the raiders in Concord will have at least one. Getting a legendary one, however, it up to chance. If you're in survival, you should see a lot of legendary drops, but getting a legendary double barrel shotgun is still hit or miss. How many kinds of weapons? How many kinds and pieces of armor? And you only get one of them per drop? You may have to wait a while...

To max your chances kill enemies you know have them: Raiders. The drops from legendaries are randomized. Max your luck to increase your chances of getting something good.

Thats exactly what i thought, if thats the case im good, i was worried that if i kept leveling i wouldnt be able to see another double barrel again, maybe i should start thinking around action lever rifles tho, those seem to be higher level weapons, didnt get to far harbor yet.



Thanks all for the responses, i guess im good with the normal double barrel tho, after all the perks and stuff it ll deal tons of damage anyways (i guess?, lol) but i was just hoping for a explosive legendary one, just for roleplaying purposes.

I believe Double Barrels can drop as legendaries from level 1. If not, it's definitely pretty low, lower than level 20.

Just find some legendary raiders and enjoy the grind.

Yeah i dont have console, i just got stuck into a wall and i had to restart and lose like 30 mins of progress, sad story. Anyways, i dont want to use console comands to add the weapon, neither i want to grind, i want to find it naturally, i wont load saves unless my char is stuck, i just wanted to know if a chance of a drop is actually there at high level, every rider now drops assault rifles, and legendary melee weapons, but its ok, i think i ll use the standard one, more challenge, im good with that :D

U can drop legendary double barrel shotguns on low lvl legendary enemies, especially on the area around sanctuary, lexington and cambridge, but past that u will mainly get combat shotguns, also i usually drop them from radroachs
