Fallout 4 RPG mods?
As the title says. Are their any mods out their that fixes the lack of an RPG feel Fallout 4 gives? Besides of course the dialogue mods. Im surprised their aren't any KARMA mods, or weapon condition mods.

Hell I'll take a mod that makes the melee weapon sound more accurate. I can't be the only one who feels the only mods out their just add weapons and building items.

So many people said when Fallout 4 lacked RPG elements form previous games, mods will fix it, where are these mods?

1. The inclusion of Karma pushes a game *further* from an RPG. Karma is crap and the antithesis of good roleplaying.

2. There's only two that I know of - they remove the minigames and tie your ability to open locks and hack to your *character's* skill in doing so.

3. Beyond that, there's no fix for this stuff short of rebuilding all the quests and dialogue trees. Ain't nobody got time for that. *Maybe* we'll see something for community made quests but not the vanilla game. And likely not that as the target audience is not exactly known for the patience required for *reading text* instead of ignoring what someone *says*.

I've been having the same problem but I think I've found a few mods to help. Although they can't restore every RPG aspect back to the game, the Fresh Game Play Overhaul and Start Me Up - Alternate Start mods do help improve some RPG aspects of the game.

There was a series of 'bounty hunter ' mods for FNV that I miss. When you installed all five, the immersion was endless. You kill a guy in first mod, his brothers came looking for your ass. But if you had an add-on, you might find he was involved with a bigger group of slavers, and you go to a new land area to shut them down . You save a girl, she ends up giving you info you need in a different mod. If you had all installed , the guy giving you bounties ends up being kidnapped, and there's a time factor of finding him before he's killed. The more baddies you killed... or turned in... the more people you had looking for your char. Even though some bounties were 'radiant' the fresh content never seemed to run out. The quests and sidequests were numerous; some were long and very well-crafted. I can't say I ever truly completed the basic series.

I was always amazed at the effort that "SomeGuy" (yes, that was his creator name) had put into all five of his mods to make them work as a total package... or separate standalone entities. RPG storytelling at its best.

First you want to download Tales of the Commonwealth. If you go to the mod page you need to choose the right file otherwise all you'll get is Atomic Radio as it's 2 mods on one page.
The mods are fairly short but it adds proper content.

The you want Fusion City Rising. It's not uber lore friendly (never seen a dance club in Fallout before) but there are some good quests. The Sword of Atom is a pretty decent plotline. It's still pretty enjoyable.

Then you want Outcasts and Remnants. I'm about to play it myself. It relies on some resources from Fusion City to work. So far it looks decent.

Really there needs to be a huge mod that overhauls the while game. "Radiant" quests are the biggest insult of this half @rsed trainwreck.

What disappoints me is the lack of consequences. Gage and I just slaughtered everyone in diamond city(minus those in buildings) including Piper's little sister and I came back like 2 ingame days later and everything was fine, Piper was just in her office telling me how great it is that I destroyed the Institute while her little sister's ashes was right outside.

Bethesda is NOT skilled at making RPGs, pretty decent open world action games yes, but actually RPG games? meh... they are severly lacking in that appartment. Alot of story does not make much sense at all. Bioware definatly knows how to do storylines better than Bethesda, but they do not offer as much in open world area. Fallout 1,2 and tactics each have a better storyline than 3 and 4 combined. New vegas is in a grey area, not as bad but not really that good either. It is fun to have a lot of freedom in a game and in that area fallout 4 gave us alot, but the resource management and shelter base building became less fun as the game progressed, mainly because of the constant attacks they had. It would be better to make an independant game for management oh wait they did that for the cellphone, and it is actually quite good, tobad it is a microtransaction game. It wouldnt be bad of Bethesda to focus more on a narrative story, with consequences and choices with companions similar to how bioware does it, redusing the areas you could build and manage for the price of a better story would be worth it in my eyes. But then not everyone like bioware games, and some might even think I am a total moron for even wanting to change something in Fallout 4, but I would like a better storyline.

redhotviking, i share your view. Bioware is great with story, not so good with open world. And who plays a Bethesda game for the story? Bethesda does great on environment stories, including computer terminals, body placement, loot placement, etc., but i have yet to find them doing a top notch main story. As for you being a total moron, i don;t know you well enough to have an opinion on that. But finding something you dislike about a game doesn't make you a moron. I love Fallout 4 (second or 3rd favorite game of all time), but even i wish they had given us a better story. Or a world where we could finish quests with something other than gun fire. The quest-story is disappointing to many of us. Even a fanboy like me.

lol... speaking of immersion; I've got the glitch where the screen blurs when you try to open locks. For me, it enhances the game because I have to open safes by sound alone... a particular pain when there's a lot of background noise like thunderstorms or machinery going on... but definitely more challenging than watching a screwdriver.

immersive gameplay overhaul

this does nothing about karma, but it fixes many small, and large things like damage sponge, components needed for turrets, etc. too many things to mention here but for me it makes roleplaying much, much better.

Tales from the commonwealth
this is a quest/more interesting npcs mod. it adds many small locations,thought out quests and characters that greatly enhance the overall world. there is also a radio station, everything in this mod are extremely high quality, if you haven't been through the game extensively, you will not be able to tell the difference between the vanilla quests and npcs, they're actually much better in my opinion

All Ill say about Karma is that from its humble beginnings we had hoped for a deeper development and expansion to that concept, instead of sacking it entirely in FO4. Otherwise in regard to FO4's RPGness, it's more sandbox than RPG in my view. The Story is weak, dull and short. The only way to draw it out is to play all sides upto the point of no return. The companions have no impact and their stories are mostly all weak and short also. Strong is a particular dissapointment for what they could have done.

Where you can get Dont Call Me Settler mod? Mod dev put it under hide status on Nexus... I mean english version
