dog meat just stays at redrocket and wont talk to me?

so i started a game like normal i killed the flies and talked to the robot, after that i went to redrocket to get Dogmeat, dogmeat was there but he ignores me and there is no way to talk to him, i tried disabling him and killing him but none of that worked, is there a fix to this?

ok randomly i was walking around and it said greet the dog then dog meat poped out of nowhere and greated me so idk what i did to fix it

i had problems with dog meat disappearing for hours of game play and then showing up out of no where. Maybe the aliens abducted him, did an anal probe, and released him back to the commonwealth. i don't know or care taht much since i really don't play the game with companions.

to find some npc you can use console command :

prid [npc ref ID]
moveto player

for dogmeat it is :

prid 0001D162
moveto player

here you will find most of the npc id :

it just randomly fixed it self i was walking in the middle of the common wealth and the quest appeared and so did dog meat
