How do you get the sorter to work?

Been trying at this no idea how to make it say, roll one group into weapon and one into armor it just take it all to the same box.

place compnents you want to be seperated into the sorter, just one is fine. Then it will grab any item that have at least one of the components specified.

remember the item sorter and component sorter work differently

Component Sorter: Put 1 unit of each of the materials you want to sort (can have a few different materials at once) into the sorter. It will sort out any object containing any of the materials.

Object Sorter: Put 1 unit of each of the items you want to sort into the sorter. It should sort out the items.
(I haven't used the item sorter yet, but it should work that way.)

Whenever the sorter sorts out an item, it will ring a bell to let you know.

I don't think there is any way to separate out groups like weapons or armor. They should add that functionallity.

Just adding the weapons/armour you want sorted to the item sorter should do the trick. ;)

There is no way to just sort out that group, which is what it sounded like OP was trying to do. You have to sort out every possible item in that group. It also means you can't sort out unique weapons since you would need a second to add it to the filter.

whatever i do it always puts EVERYTHING to the machine or storage
dosent sort anything .... food items go into weapon and armor forges

like wth how to make this work?

my setup:

workshop > vacuum hopper > components sorter > conveyor storage on one side , weapon forge on other

dosent work
dosent sort

no wonder this dlc has mostly negative reviews
