(SOLVED) Can you re-ally yourself to a settlement?
i really did google this one, but found very few threads on this issue. Apparently you CAN really yourself to a settlement by killing everyone there or by doing the appropriate quest for Preston pertaining to that settlement. The thing is, my Character is not the kind of guy to massacre a village of corn growing Ghouls. And i WOULD move on, but i put a lot of effort into the Slog. I only got kicked out because I was getting jumped by Clint, Tess and their army of Gunners when the Slog decided to get attacked by raiders in power armor. i think this is a bit unfair. I would even resort to using a console command if i had to, but i really dont want to kill Arlen Glass and the Wiseman or even Holly just to get a bunch of junk back from the workshop. (i seriously had some expensive weapons stashed away in there). So what else can i do short of massacreing the entire Slog?

if i really wanted to fight clint and tess and their army or gunners again with no stimpacks and no food on SURVIVAL i would of reloaded a save and not have made this thread, duh! it doesent take a PHD to figure out how to savescum guys, really..... oh and i hope the edited hyphen helps brighten your day, dumb ass.

TLDR

For anyone else wanting the answer to this question, the best thing to do is what AndyRobby said and wait about a week then return.

Leave it alone for a week then return and see if they are still hostile.

go back to a previous save, take your stuff out of the workshop and move on and really do not store your stuff in some settlements workshop. Do you or have you not created a safe haven for yourself and your stuff yet?

Do you mean re-ally ?

If you wait for awhile they should calm down...3 days or so.

Then if they are now nuetral they should have a task or quest for you, so you can use the workbench again.

thanks for telling me where to put a -. Really, i am too stupid to understand basic grammar and spelling. can you please proofread everything I ever type on the internet especially when i type something before having my coffee? thanks, you're a pal.

well the thing is, i store things In all of my settlements. I gave the enraging minigun to the wiseman so he could fend off raiders, and a fatman to Holly, but apparently they don't know how to use them. i really dont want to load up a previous save. seriously, i dont savescum, PLUS i really dont want to have to go and kill Clint and Tess again. They are really really hard especially when you are low on stimpaks and food, if that was an option i probably would have done it before posting this thread. trust me.

Off topic
Pretty sure ''re-ally'' isn't a thing either , rather allying a settlement again

i assume a week in game, right? thanks. this was the only advice on this entire thread that answered my question without being condescending or contradicting the conditions i had above. Thank you.

Since the main issue has been adressed, I'm just gonna give a hint on the weapons:
If you give a settler or a companion a weapon, you will also need to provide ammunition for the weapon for them to be able to use it.

I've been running around with Ada for so long that I honestly can't remember if you need a sensible ammo amount or not. ^_^;

Got an interesting twist on this problem. anyone who might have had said quest to make them allies again has been killed. all the people are named settler. no named npcs anymore. is there still any way to get this settlement(county crossing) working again?
