The preset tabs of the LooksMenu mod is greyed out if you aren't using the correct F4SE version for the mod and game.

I've seen this every post I've come across... F4SE not being the latest version, or LooksMenu, or even your game not being up to date. However, everything on my computer is up to date. Using MO2, I had to manually copy the LooksMenu files into the overwrite folder from my steam folder in order for it to work, however now the presets option is greyed out and I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure this out. I never got the presets to work, however before I moved to the overwritten folder, I was able to open the presets, but nothing was there (I tested it by downloading numerous presets off of nexus), nor could I save my own. If ANYONE has figured out another fix for this, please let me know.

Open your physical Fallout 4 directory.

Create this location if it doesn't exist
steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data\F4SE\Plugins\F4EE\Presets

If i can remember correctly you have to have atleast one preset.json file. Once you have one in their, you no longer have to worry about that one as MO2 will then start putting them in the overwrite directory.

Pulled my hairout as well and found this out by alot of luck and trial and error.

I am a little late but what fixed it for me was launching the game through the f4se_loader which can be found at ...steamapps\common\Fallout 4

You still want to make sure everything is up to date though.
