Scrapping cars.

Does anyone else think its werid that when cars blow up, they cause a small nuclear explosion. Yet when you scrap them you only get some steel for them. Where is the Nuclear material? ALso I have noticed that when you scrap certain cars it drops leather seats.

good point. What i want to be able to do is go out and scrap cars that i find throughout the wasteland, bring the crap back to my settlement, and truly clean up the Commonwealth. Bet there is a mod for this.

i did, for a while anyway. the nuclear material in the cars has been there for years and the engine may have become to unstable to safely take apart. aside from that it's probably a game mechanic, forcing you to loot as many buildings as you can find.

I had a similar idea. Even just bigger zones around our settlements. Perheaps some massive junk walls, or concret pill boxes. Not being able to touch lanterns or any light source you didn't establish is really stupid.

What mod allows you to scrap outside a build zone?

None that I know of. Those special cars were found inside zone.

I don't mod yet working on achievments. Maybe the save on hardcore mod when i get to survival . They say it doesn't affect achievments. Those once and awhile chrashes for no reason would be my only reason for using that one.

how does that add "fun"...the least it does is give you infinite materials

If you think too hard about anything in this game it won't make sense.
So stop thinking so hard, and just keep hoarding/genociding super muntants like a good vault boy :)
