Where to find Power Armor & Cores?

I don't know if it's obvious but I'm knew to Fallout 4. I haven't done many missions, I just cleared raiders out of that power plant place. The power armor I first got from the vertibird is very low, so I was wondering where I can get a new core, or better armor altogether?

First off the power core can be found inside building that has generators, you can buy power cores from merchants at first as well which that would be in weapon section where the ammos goes because power core use ammo consumement for gatling laser gun.

Power armors they can be rarely found out in commonwealth, one can be found somewhere train tracks that has cargo and train still partly intatic. For me I find them very easy, but power armors can be bought by a merchant again, but its only going be skeleton suit which armorless.

You can also find them in Ammo Boxes and pick pocket them from Power armor Wearing NPCs. Except some certian ones.

You really need to level up before you go PA hunting otherwise you will be stuck with T-45 or T-51, That being said there is a suit near tenpines bluff in a blue train car and one at the Federal Ration Stockpile and 2 at the National Guard Training center. But I implore you to wait until atleast level 15 before you go get them or T-45 is all you will get.

Fallout 4 map will show you the locations of most power armor.

Also grab the Scrounger perk for a higher chance to find fusion cores.

Also the type of power armor you find is mainly based on your level. On higher levels, you'll keep finding t-60s and fewer t-45s. Military outposts and checkpoints usually have a power core, and sometimes a full set of PA.
