Modders! Better pipboy?
So the pipboy is a mess.
-The first problem is the size. It doesn't take up the whole screen, which is a waste of space. It gets even worse with higher FOV, because the pipboy gets even smaller. Any fullscreen pipboy mods around? WIth a 90FOV it's only about the quarter of the screen...insanity.
-Sorting. It can take a very long time to scroll down to the bottom of your misc category. I know there are mods like keychain that group up keys, but different subcategories would be even better.
-The map. Oh boy....this one is annoying. I know there are high-res maps, better roads, etc. That's not my problem. Same as mentioned before, it's just too damn small. Just look at the vanila Skyrim map...it's fullscreen. With a map this dense, we need it bigger, with better zoom levels.

My nexus search turned up mostly (except for the ones I mentioned I know about), but maybe it's just well hidden. I'm looking for something like SkyUI is for Skyrim.

Anyone got anything? :)

the fov command uses 2 numbers, the first for the pipboy the second is for 1st person view. i think around 72-75 is the closest to get the pipboy to fullscreen. i forget what the default numbers are, lets just say they're 100. to change the pipboy you'd use

fov 75 100

you'll still see part of the pipboy but it'll be close up to the screen

Custom Camera offers 3 person tweaks so you can change fov for the pipboy and have a custom 3rd person view

i know this thread is older than dirt but essentially what OP was asking for is FallUI, which wasn't a thing when this thread was created....haven't installed it in a while but i want to say it has an up-close option for pipboy during installtion, but don't quote me on that....even if it does its the same effect as using fov

if it were me i'd install FallUI...then install Pip-pad or the Tactical Tablet to replace the pipboy with a rectangular object, and fov it as close to fullscreen as possible. Pip-pad and Tactical Tablet don't use the arm so at worst you'll see your fingers. but you won't have a pipboy anymore.

if you decide to try out those mods follow the uninstall instructions if you install them and don't like them or you'll end up not having a pipboy at all.

i actually had fallUI, and it's a start of a great mod, but it didn't have what i was looking for because it made the text on the screen even smaller and didn't touch FOV settings, so that's something the user needs to set up, but it was a cool mod as it provided much more detail to the pipboy display, it just made the screen smaller because they needed to put all that extra detail lol, kind of counter intuitive for me personally.

but i have not tried the pip pad one or the other one, so i will have to check these out and see if they help me at all.

i'm new to this game btw, i have some limited understanding of mods of skyrim, and because it's bethesda i know nothing is out of reach, but i do understand that not everything can be resolved in the way that i would want, it seems simple, but maybe not for a skilled modder.

See what I mean?

I have this exact problem. I can't stand looking at the map in the pipboy. Is there any mod to fix it more as seen in your screenshot? to make the map look like tesv (or ANY other game ever...) ?

@rfzm
i found this mod, but it may not help in that other issue, you see, i wanted the pipboy to be absolute full screen and not show my arm or whatever, there is a sort of zoom in functionality, but it's still limited how far you have to zoom, so you have to manually set your FOV in the console which is annoying as ♥♥♥♥, but it does help.

anyway, go to this link for your map.

Thanks, though i tried that one and couldn't get it to work, besides it still just looks like its a pipboy thing :/

yeah, i hate the monocrome look, it bothers my eyes, but not also seeing what i'm looking at like details on the screen are every bit as annoying when you can only zoom in so much.

btw, what modding launcher are you using? i was just using vortex as it sort of auto loads the mods in the right position, i miss using Mod Organizer, that was far easier to understand, but you had to do all the work, ya know, load order and all that jazz, so i have a very limited amount of mods that i use.
