Juggling factions to get most quest
I just finished the begining quest for the Institute and have to return the halo tape Proctor Ingram. I am wanting to work on as many quest I can with all factions before the point of having to show "true loyalty".

I have seen there are videos and walkthroughs following the minuiteman route to finish game. I have not watched the videos to avoid spoliers.
1. How close am I to the point of having to create faction enemies?
2. Anyway to advise me on the minuiteman route?

At the moment I did not want to agree to join Father but did not want to miss out on quest. Up until now I was using Paladin as my companion and hope to continue quest with him until unable.

Thank you!

the game itself will warn you when you trigger a certain quest further for one of the factions.

Minuteman route is against Institute and i think you will easily find an oppertunity to use.

The quest to look out for is called The Nuclear Option. You are a fair distance away from gettting it. Just keep doing quests for for all factions until you do. Each faction has its own version of the MM radiant quests. So you can use those for experience grinds. These are bascially all the same type of quests: Go to place, collect item or Go to place, clear enemy.

When you get The Nuclear Option it will have optional components that will permit you to choose which faction's ending you will do. This occurs depending upon which faction you ask to help you complete the quest.

Depending upon the quests you have done for each faction you may also get one of the "turning point" missions. Completing any one of the "turning point" missions (they have different names) will fail the others and lock you into that ending. You'll know when it happens because there will be messages on the screen that tell you things like "Boarding the Vertibird will make the Institute hostile" and etc.

So, my advice is to backup your save when you get The Nuclear Option so you can play out all the endings. Backup the save after each ending and then you can choose from which ending you can proceed from with your "post main questline" game.

do as many rr, (mostly) minutemen & bos BEFORE you free nick (you can finish most companions max affinity, only curie, nick (cause not found yet) danse and x6-88 need to be done later)

after free nick and kill kellog, do again with bos & (mostly) rr but dont build teleport

after build teleport (bos), do mostly institute until "mass fusion" is available (don't talk to institute npc to START the quest, it should only show up "talk to x")... finish max affinity on companions (danse must be with bos story, so maybe later)...

finish main story with bos and max affinity with danse, kill rr (you should have railroad armor mods allready) and institute

after main story, kill bos with minutemen (need to be hostile, kill named bos npcs at gambridge police station for example)

nearly most quest & max rewards you can get...

One note, if you want to do the MM ending AND keep the BOS and RR friendly AND available to give you quests, DO NOT finish the quest that determines Danse's fate before finishing the Main Quest Line. If you do, you risk Proctor Ingraham just looking at you when you try to speak to her. If doing the MM ending when you get the quest to look for Danse just wait to do it before you've completed the Main Quest line.
