How much water can you make...?
Does your Purified Water amount larger than Project Purity itself? Can Santuary provide "The Waters of Life" to the Commonwealth? Can you best the GECK? What's your daily production of Purified Water for you non-modders? What's your maximum amount of Purified Water you've had?

Modders can place anywhere (on a rooftop, without water source), break physics(machines atop/intersecting other machines), and use unfair resource producing methods (items making 1,000 Purified Water a day per machine, for hyperbolic example), so we don't count them.

Or any other fun resource you may have ridiculous production rates for, like Tatos.

I find that even though I have purifiers set up to out put ~140 water they only return about maximum 88-98 per day. This is in a settlement with no settlers, so there is no usage. Seems capped to me.

I have it sitting at exactly 535, and I get 389 per day... I have about 14 settlers though. I don't think they ever complain about water.

If it has no settlers then its capped.

You know of any reason that 140 capped only produces 88-98 Purified Water? Why wouldn't it produce 140 purified water?
With ~800 water you can get around 500 purified water per food production cycle in a settlement with around 20 workers.

Amount produced is better if happiness is high.

That means 20 of the 40water purifiers...jees

I wasn't trying for a particular limit, but I did set up a chem warehouse in Nordhagen beach with about 100 raider fridges.

My Sanctuary now has 975 water and produces 739 Purified. 16 settlers.

after a tour of my settlements i collect about 2500-3000 units of PW
settlements have a production of 120-180 each
add mutfruit, junk, caps , fertilizer ,tato etc
the problem is that you get so many caps you cant spend them anymore
(and you dont have to pay income tax in the commonwealth)

Do dogs count with water, can dogs raise your water output?

Yes ... When water is "produced", there is a 25% chance per "water production" that water is NOT produced. On average, you are looking at 75% of what you're producing. Since it's rolling an RNG per water, then you can harvest between 60%-85% of your total water production.

Furthermore, water is "capped" at each settlement ... The code from the GECK workshop script :

maxStoredWaterBase = 5 const ; stop producing when we reach this amount stored maxStoredWaterPerPopulation = 0.25 const ; increase max for each population

When the game harvests water, it will look at the total MAX, if it's less than the MAX, it will harvest water. For example :

Starting with no water, you are under the MAX total. It rolls an RNG for 140 water and spits out 84-119 water. You are now above the MAX total and the next "daily update" will not harvest water. You will need to empty the workshop container.

Also note ... after it harvests water, it will also "transfer" water to linked settlements if they need water and settler's will "consume" water at this time. If your "water farm" appears to harvest LESS water per day (i.e. less than 65% ish) then it probably transfered the water to another settlement or you got screwed by the RNG. Just remember to subract the # of settlers at the water farm before you panic .... :)

As you can see, it's important to ensure ALL your settlements are producing water to compensate for any shortage (any screwing by RNG), otherwise they will drain your water farm (if linked). The best water farm are "unlinked" settlements.

Dunno if I really want to drink that water. I heard of "PiBWasser" in GTA, but this takes the cake. XD

With new found info, I would say yes, since dogs do increase the population (according to workshop HUD) and pop. increase causes higher stored water limits. Now do they consume water? I assume so.

Thank you. This has become important with my increasing water supply.

I wonder what the MAX is with 20 settlers and having over 10K water would do; possible on Specticale Island? Would that mean it would be on average a theoretical 6,000 to 8,500 Purified Water a day, or would it "hard cap" at say, 1,000?

Sorry not to reply right away, I was in-game and the forum glitched.

There doesn't appear to be a "hard cap" on how much you can produce, the only cap is the amount of water to trigger production of water, that's why it's important to empty the workshop every day.

Basically, your "hard cap" will be the first production roll.
