Oh hes not even close to his potential yet...... read some of these " Gems "
http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198181876009/posthistory/
Why are you dck humping this person, what he said wasn't wrong. Bethesda games don't sell because everyone loves Todd Howard. They sell because people want to use mods, i do think that Bethesda should give more support to the people that are making them billions.
Cause if not for Oblivions mods i would not have looked forward to playing a release of Skyrim, or even bothered seeing Fallout 3 NVS on the nexus because i wouldn't have been their in the first place.
"I dont know ♥♥♥♥, but something is missing and i am not smart enough to say what needs to be said."
He was expressing he knows the game is fcked, but he can't quite put his finger on it. You couldn't understand that?
No offense, but I buy them for the games themselves. I'm not hating on Bethesda, but there is always room for improvement. I think it would be GREAT if I could but a game and it didn't NEED mods to enjoy it
You just slapped yourself backwards, you say you buy the games for the game itself . But then say you'd think it would be great if you yourself could enjoy the game without the need of a mod.
Everyone feels this way lol, myself included; but that's never going to happen ever ever ever never never never neveeeeeeeeeeeeer!!!
Its like hearding cats its why the shti you can get from mods that is in DLC wich is basicly just a fist full of building ♥♥♥♥, no real cool stuff, its done haphazard style and to lessor detail. Like I got one for some beds and stuff they are just stolen object files we normaly can't use from the main game, like a 2 person bed for my personal penthous in sanctuary I made. But it came with junk like half assed vault doors, half the warehouse walls that the DLC came with. I got just bombarded with doubles of stuff I got beter versions of now in my build menus just to get a a couple beds, and couple other little decoration items I wanted becuase some one just kind of copied over every object file in the game they could find we couldn't get in vanilla.
Its same thing with their other games like skyrim I seen some insane mods that took over year to build doing ♥♥♥♥ the game was never made to do. Like big thing the modders of that crazy ♥♥♥♥ are waiting for is the SKSE or whatever moder utilty program to add custom keys so they can throw in insane amounts of stuff the devs would never put in. And more importantly usign tools and methods that the devs would never do, because they can't alter the code.
I mean every patch to make one mod better could break 30 others, its just a nightmare, easier to give them the basic toolkit and let the modders do what they do, mod. I mean they didn't hold their hands in Skyrim and look at what they did with that.
The empirical evidence does not support your claim.
Even with Consoles mods and Bethesda.net integration, only around 4% of users ever install a mod.
The top downloaded mods on Nexus are in the low hundred thousand unique downloads at best. Out of around 5-6 Million sales on PC alone. To say nothing of the 15 more Million on X1/PS4
1. Morrowind-Bethesda's first big success and the birth of the modding community. Bethesda supported the modding community with EXPORTING TOOLS from 3dsmax and TUTORIALS that were instrumental in allowing players to create truly original content. The scene flourished with a truly open world that was well developed to create new quests. Modding was not overly complicated at this time.
2. Oblivion-another major success with minor changes to the engine. This allowed the modding community to adapt to the new .nif and animation formats without too much additional assistance. Bethesda supplied TUTORIALS for new oblivion modders. Both simple and complex mods were possible.
3. Fallout 3-certainly economically successful, this title brought with it major changes to the engine. Bethesda created TUTORIALS for this title. However, because Bethesda did not release new exporting tools, content creators were left with limited options on getting new content into the game. The modding community did transition from oblivion to fallout 3 very well and many highly successful simple mods and some complex mods were created.
4. Fallout New Vegas-though this wasn't a Bethesda Game Studios creation the title was very popular. Unfortunately, yet again there were no new exporting tools for this game. There was a very long delay between the game's launch and the time when the modding community could bring some types of new content into the game. Many of the people who could not afford 3dsmax (which costs thousands of dollars) left the community during this wait.
5. Skyrim-incredibly successful economically, bringing with it many new people interested in modding Bethesda makes major changes to the enjine again. Bethesda again supplies TUTORIALS alone, which leaves many of the older community members with no way to bring new content into the game. Many of the original modders from Morrowind and Oblivion move on, as they are not able to do what they love. This leaves a large knowledge gap that is never filled.
6. Fallout 4-Bethesda finally releases new EXPORTING TOOLS as well as TUTORIALS! And they even directly communicated with the community to help them get new content in game. Unfortunately the exporting scripts are for 3dsmax 2013, an outdated version that is no longer purchaseable. This makes them next to useless for most people. There is constant badgering from the console community demanding new content be ported to their version of the game, often in an incredibly rude manner. The few long time modders who are excited about the new exporting tools go silent so that they will not constantly be pestered by very rude people who don't know anything about modding. There is a good chance that over time people will reverse engineer the exporting tools bethesda released to make them more widely compatible. But this takes years. Until then, people will be stuck with whatever simple mods are creatable with the modding kit bethesda released.
Before you decide to blame the dwindling modding scene on one thing or another, it is important to understand a few things. Bethesda in many cases could not release their exporting scripts for legal reasons. And having both exporting scripts and a modding kit is far better then most developers do. Bethesda did a lot to help the community and is directly responsible for past successes.
Unfortunately, Bethesda cannot make the modding community more successful. They cannot create new exporting tools for different programs due to contract obligations. They really have tried to support the Fallout 4 community, but it's obvious that most of the olders modders have moved on. And hiring someone full time to work of modding isn't something that any company is going to do.
Wow Detective Regan i like that 4 percent number you've pulled out of thin air, the Nexus Community just got a little bit smaller.
Since it's at 4 percent i might as well go play Call of Duty in space more active members!!
but muh paranoid delusional fantasy about BIG BETHESDA conspiring against muh mods!
Do you actually have an argument to put forth, or just pathetic delusional ramblings?
It's just simple math. (Over)20Million copies sold of Fallout 4. Sub 1 million Visitor* downloads on just Nexus. That makes it under 5%
*It has to be a unique visitor, since any invidual can download as many mods as they want. Margin of Error could be as high ast an additional 5% But since your claim is an absolute, anything less than 51% negates your premise.
Like some of the guys I liked from skyrim right now are working, but its so slow because the level user made tools people had like SKSE are no where near ready. People got into skyrim late with steam sales got finished mods that took about a year to make and now are wondering why its been a few months since they got the tools out to the mods we don't have the shti skyrim had after over a year of them working non stop on mods lol
Like one of the forums I follow they are waiting for the mod utilty to hit the stage where they can add custom button inputs to their mod, they literally can not finish the work they have done till that tool reaches that point some thing every is use to in skyrim the mod menu utiltie ♥♥♥♥ that all good mods use now, but it hasn't been completed to that scale yet for this, and that wasn't stock that was hand mad by fans. Anywyas there a lot of new people to the forums from last 6 months who showed up for amazing mod community now almost trolling trolls get their posts pulled, the mod creators becuase they expected skyrim level of modding to be done in a couple months after they got the tools, not realizing most the great ♥♥♥♥ they got is piggy backing off ♥♥♥♥ some one spent over a year updating.
Also you got wait for the last DLC for any real work to get done that is another thing skyrim players don't know. Every patch to make it ready for the DLC undermines tons of modders ♥♥♥♥ when doing the fancy tool kits, and sends them back the drawing board to go and find out what did this patch change, so they can fix their tools that tons of modders rely on.
Your math is backwards like your brain, stop shooting unrealistic facts out your anal trying to sound intelligent; when you're Trumps equal. Atleast when Trump is shooting facts he know he's lieing and has some degree of being legit almost!!
Not to mention nexus isn't the only place to get mods, nor is Bethesda.net.
"Shipped 12 Million Copies Retail..."
Literally right below the link: "Fallout 4 Sold more digitally than Retail on Launch day."
Digital sales excluded. Try harder idiot.
No, they really don't.
The community has been 'connecting' with mods for a decade and a half with no problem.
If the *Fallout 4* community is having problems doing that its solely due to those people's console gaming focus (and I'm not dinging peasants here - its just a fact of life that the expectations of potato-gaming and PC-gaming are radically different) and assumptions that BGS isn't completely lying when they say modding a game is as easy as 'one-click'. It wasn't one-click with Skyrim Workshop. Its isn't one-click with any other game. Its sure as hell not one-click with their own in-house mod repository - which is, *somehow*, WORSE than the Skyrim Workshop for managing and installing mods. And that, ladies and gentlemen, takes a lot of not-giving-a-♥♥♥♥ to accomplish.
