Check your fire we've got hostiles!!

So i'm playing on survival on PC and am unable to initiate the "Fire Support" mission that introduces you to The Brotherhood Of Steel - Paladin Danse gets stuck saying "check your fire we've got hostiles".
Every single fix or workaround involves fast travelling or console commands or something like that. As these are not possible in survival mode i'm pretty much screwed when it comes to meeting The Brotherhood.
This will prove VERY detrimental as i'm going to need some of the big guns they have, but mostly because of the Vertibird lift ability.
I'm loving survival, it is proving a nice challenge, but this is a huge game breaker for me and probably a lot of others. Please fix.

There is probably a ghoul still around somewhere...possibly stuck in scenery. Look around for it, toss a few grenades around, or leave the area for a while and come back.

I did have a good hunt around for ghouls already and i went off and did Far Harbor and came back to it, but still no joy

What do you mean "how will that help?".
You literally said it yourself "Every single fix or workaround involves fast travelling or CONSOLE COMMANDS or something like that.".
This mod lets you use console commands in survival mode.

I had a similar problem with the first quest where you get the power armour. There was one raider who managed to hide in a very seclusive spot that took quite some time to find.

I find that this quest will glitch out quite dependably if you save it for too long, so take it fairly early. You can save the Arc Jet quest if you like with no ill consequences.
