Yep. I was so rich by that point that I didn't care in the least about the chest.
Yeah, I can see now we're looking for activity rewards perhaps, instead of material rewards, which is plentiful. When it's all said and done, it's the players imagination that might continue with further rewards, even in the term of mods for that matter.
Perhaps off topic, but I'm on my second playthrough with all the DLC's ... I'm running one mod with a Synth Factory and going to convert Vault 88 into a suedo Institute. Make copies of the gang leaders and a few members and some other characters and basically convert the Common Wealth as my new "imagination goal". In the end, the "synths" I create will just be "Ghosts of Christmas Past" ... things I have done and perhaps regret doing.
You're not alone in your thoughts there Traveler. No matter how I look at it, most of the stuff in FO4 is a grind that ends on a good note or a bad taste in our mouths ... :/.
Radiers vs BoS ... I like it, but sadly the BoS has nothing to raid besides the airport, then it would be over (ok, maybe raid a BoS tribute settlement perhaps?). It was a shame that the gangs weren't included in the main quest as an alternate ending, that could have been done but just another missed opportunity. (edit note typo, "weren't included" changed in last sentence).
So when I went to recapture settlements from the raiders, I had to prevent any raider from trying to access the chest to arm themselves, making it like a high-stakes defense game (and a particularly bad one because I'd stripped gear off a lot of the raiders, making them heavily biased toward requipping themselves).
It might be awhile before I can get the factory up and running since I just started Vault 88 and running around getting things prepped for my goal. The mod that I'm running is one that I found through Bethesda mods (in game) ... It's called "Workshop Synth Production". I made a quick screenshot of the in-game page if it peaks anyones interest (see below).
I've been meaning to find something to build at Vault 88 that would prove usefull in my playthroughs and give me an extra "in-game" project to screw around with. I'll post something later and holler.
But really, I've done NW and it's time to twist it around (in my mind). Sure, Mags and brother William will have a settlement in the CW with their Operators, they just won't live to see it as their synth doubles will be alive and well ... only in body, perhaps in spirit, but definately not in mind and of course not the same voice, but hey, just something to do (for now).

Yeah, I remember a post awhile back that mentioned that bug with the tribute chest, that was you. Definately something to keep in mind when taking back the outpost. I suppose too late now but I suppose either removing the chest for good measure beforehand or retaking the outpost during bedtime (sandman the raiders in their bed, one by one).
I never checked (in my last game) whether or not I could command my companion to inspect the tribute container to see if they could grab something. That usually told me whether the container was being seen by an NPC as a valid container (as far as I knew).
Again, a good reminder about the tribute chest, thnx Douglas.
